That is not a noose. A noose is a very specific knot that has only one piece of rope going from the noose so that it can only tighten and not loosen. The ribbon pictured is in a loop which is not a noose so surely there is no case to answer if the charge is that the ribbon is a noose?
I keep re-reading this and I still can't get my head around the 'crime' this woman is supposed to have committed. Of all the shit that has been going down on social media for years, and this is what the Scottish police has decided to pursue in the name of hate crime. I hope this gets enough publicity to make people kick up a stink.
The frisson of excitement and rush of excitement these people get from seeing the authorities do their bidding - what would it be called, is there a word for it? - needs to be recognised as part of the pathology of these twisted people. Then perhaps it would be easier to explain to the police and politicians how they are being manipulated.
