I'll take it a step further : Where are the politicians?

They're lining up in their HUNDREDS to condemn simian emojis sent to celebrity footballers by Russian bots.

But if it's LEGIT DEATH THREATS sent to another celebrity they're conspicuously silent. Gee I wonder why 🙄

You're so right. Please keep naming and shaming the cowards who collude with that misogynistic menace.

Is it because women's rights are just not fashionable enough for the celebrity virtue signallers or is it because they secretly agree with Rowling but are far too cowardly to speak out, or is it because they can bleat about black rights without any personal consequences but if they were to support women's rights they have an uncomfortable feeling that they might actually have to change their own behaviour?

Frances Barber was tweeting in JK’s defence last night and was immediately targeted.

My heart is aching today. It feels so relentless. How can people not see what’s happening. This is radicalisation in plain sight and everyone seems to either applaud it or turn a blind eye. What’s wrong with people. I’m so frustrated I could cry.

thanks graham, for not ignoring the threats, for understanding that those who threaten violence will continue to do so if there is no comeback for them. if the regulations violated are not upheld/and if then these laws that do exist are also attacked - the threats of violence will continue.

of course bullies don't just threaten violence. those who threaten violence enact their threats if those threatened are not protected. so these public-made threats need to be acknowledged. repeatedly.

It's amazing, isn't it, how few people have true, real courage. All those who so bravely "stand up" for the rights of men, which are already backed by every organization and government in the Western world. And how few are willing to stand up against the real discrimination and marginalization of women, that is hitting hardest the poorest and most deprived.

Thank you, Graham. What a roster of cowardice.

'I wish you a very nice pipe bomb in the mailbox': JK Rowling calls out troll who tweeted death threat at her by saying how failed bids to 'cancel' her have left them with 'only one place left to go'

An account entitled 'Sam (Egocom Arc)' tweeted sick threat to author last night

In response author bravely hit back, saying critics had failed in bid to cancel her

I pray she starts legal action against Twitter..or at least sue the ones threatening her..that will give them a wake up call

It is astounding that with all the action being taken against race hate on social media that hate against women can go by almost unremarked. It just shows how sexist society is.

I always notice as well that people comment on her being rich and saying she is targeting poor people and I think that comes from a place of misogynistic hate too - hate that a woman could, off her own back, and using only her own skills, become a self made billionaire ( before she gave so much away).

Where do we raise these issues ? - my MP is Clive Lewis so I can’t write to him because he doesn’t care and wouldn’t raise it in Parliament and you can’t write to MPs who do care unless you are their constituent. Is a letter to BoJo the only option. It is so frustrating to have no representation.

Amazing no one has the guts to call it out.

Showbiz people can do very little but the law can yet they are, seemingly, the least interested of all. When you get people being arrested for singing Bob the Builder, but can't get someone arrested for threatening people with pipe bombs, something is very VERY wrong. Oh and David Walliams is a known coward anyway

I see radicalisation to violence going on there, that’s regarded as a warning sign of potential terrorism and the benchmark Prevent work to.

It’s beyond "hate speech".
