To be fair, when you can’t get a woman sacked, arrested or dropped by her publisher, and cancelling her only made her book sales go up, there’s really only one place to go.

David Walliams is supposedly a Rowling fan but I’ve yet to see him condemn the treatment she’s been getting. Let me check his latest tweets… hmm, plenty of virtue signalling, but nothing to support this survivor of domestic violence receiving death and rape threats. Racism IS bad, David, but your silence on the matter of JK Rowling suggests that misogyny is the ‘acceptable’ face of hate.

Jon Ronson, author of ‘So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed’, anything to say about this public shaming, certainly more ambitious in scope and significance than what Justine Sacco went through? Not even a trace of journalistic interest in it?

Yes, all that awful yelling. Like when a woman is calling out for help after receiving rape and death threats.
