Short this week maybe, but oh my the news of executive orders streaming from Washington (with the exception of one or two) is so very sweet.
What is currently annoying me though is the use of "trans female". We clung on to the word "female" as it was useful for referring to actual real biological (groan) sex given that the word "woman" no longer conveyed its original meaning. Leave our words alone!
In addition, with the demise of DEI, not so many men will be tempted to twist the system because I suspect a lot of them used the 'trans' card just to claim to be part of a marginalised group, so if there's nothing to be gained by it, the numbers might go down.
Unfortunately, California and Washington state will probably be the last to relent. They are wasting millions of our tax money (I live in WA) to 'Trump Proof' the state against the revocation of gender feels (among other issues). Eventually it will trickle down, but not for awhile yet, methinks.
The only time I'm sort of happy with "female" is for....
FIB..."female Impersonating Bloke.
Fib being another term for lie, and the full phrase very clear what is going on. Unfortunately this will never get used, cos its "not kind"
I am so over being "kind" on this front. Though I never accepted this ideology when I first came across it in the 1990s when there were ridiculous "sensational" articles in the newspaper of "First man to get pregnant" and it was just a woman pretending to be a man. I presume it was done to "soften" everyone up as even then, presenting a man as a woman wasn't seen...no one would have accepted it.
The appropriation of the term female has been in process for some time by tras.
I am very happy with the EO from the new administration, but WHY did it have to be "him". However, I do not give the kudos to him. He did not write it and the way he read it out, I'm not entirely sure he understood it. All he did understand is being against the gender ideology gets him votes.
My favourite news of the week, as usual. Thank you JL.
And so the cleansing of woke ideology begins. I'm an old leftie who never thought four years ago that Donald Trump's return would actually be good news for women's rights. (As an aside, Trump's stance on abortion is against an outright band and leaving it to individual states to decide - thereby taking it out of federal politics so even this does not make him anti women).
The president elect said it to the country, 'there are only two genders', and only now Democrats feel brave enough to speak out. It makes us realise how gender critical people were silenced by their own 'liberal' party.
I would credit Elon Musk for giving back a voice to gender critical Twitter members when he got rid of those trans activists which kept cancelling us and Libs of TikTok have been great too.
What a wonderful week. Who’d have thought that Trump would give us such hope and let’s not forget the opening up of free speech by Musk.
Thanks JL and all those who’ve been beavering away in their own way for years. Thanks Glinner for your huge sacrifices and every good wish for a successful future with a growing awakening to what you’ve been saying for years. I won’t ask for apologies for you because I doubt you’ll get them. But many thanks from us all and thanks to JL for doing some of the donkey work. Now we just have to hope for some results and repercussions for the rest of the captured countries. 🤞
Under Labour? No it’s all looking dire but we have to hope that what Trump does will wake up those people who’ve not taken on board the seriousness of what’s been happening and that gradually the backlash will grow.
Well I've been hoping it would dawn on them that maybe the 'grooming' gangs should be dealt with (deported would be my favourite).
It's not happening though is it. It feels like all the poison that for us has been hidden underground for so long, is seeping to the surface and being exposed to the air. There's so much of it. We're almost gangrenous Tenacious. I'm hoping in the long run this exposure of corruption will be a good thing.
I agree, I think we’re pretty much at the point where things are now so bad that they can’t be ignored or covered up by those in power. Shameful that it has to be that way. They could have listened years ago.
I think things will change faster than you expect.
Trump (and Elon) have been poking the beehive since they got the go ahead post-election. I think Trump is perfectly aware of the labor party members who were sent here to interfere in our elections.
When Kier is presented with the butcher bill, he might just back the hell away all out of town...
PS, when new yorkers speak quietly like he did the other day....watch out.
Thank you so much for kindly giving us the link. Superb reading that complete smashes all that ideology to smithereens.
His ad 'Kamala is for they/them, Trump is for you', swung the undecided in his favour and rightly so. Now let's see Democrats tear up the veil of deceit and come out into the light.
Yes, the likes of AOC are shockingly blinkered, but Bill Maher has been banging the same drum as us for a while so I'm hoping there will be a slow turn.
I only hope that in Europe woke leaders will begin to see how voters hate that ideology.
Well, the next four years will be interesting on many levels.
As a cook, AOC bug TF outta me. Bartenders can't get their customers orders right half the time and they tend to be chatty Kathys who will take on the flavor of whomever is paying for the drinks.
I hope they run her for pres in '28. Trudeau can then shame us (from his tropical exile) for not electing 3 crazy women when we had the chance...
So much better than my disappointment in Obama, who basically ignored, indeed backtracked on, all of the reasons that people voted for him (get out of the wars, no mandates for health insurance tied to corporations, etc) in the first three weeks of his reign.
So good to see the Neo Cons and Neo Libs both in the corner looking worried.
Trump did an amazing thing for women on the first day. He signed an executive order to recognize the Equal Rights Amendment, something that has been languishing in this country since the 70's. And not just doing that, but tying it to sex, not gender.
I remember my mom taking me out to canvass for the ERA back in the 70's when she belonged to the League of Women Voters. I don't know what is next, but it was good to see Trump (who has been accused of so much misogyny, albeit perhaps politically motivated) expressing interest in this document which so many old feminists in the US assumed was DOA at this point in time...
Thank you for sharing that memory. I really do think he has some very savvy advisers and people in post who not only saw which way the wind was blowing (months and years back), but also seem to appreciate something I find hard to describe - is it logic, or ethics or the law? Reality? Biology? Evidence? Risk? Backing the likely winner? The scientific method? Right or wrong seem highly contested terms. Just like 'left' or 'right' in politics now, but everything is so upside down (and has been for years) it's hard to ride the rollercoaster we seem to have been pushed on. I read that executive order and it was the most sane thing I have seen in a while. And it was done the moment they took office. Not just empty hot air, but acting and swiftly. The websites to be taken down in just a few days and all their wheedly possible ways to get round all this have been predicted too. All the previous excuses the previous administration used to not defend women and girls and men and boys have apparently melted away. So it could be done with the will to.
It's like the genderologists have such a pure form of textbook narcissism they pushed their smoke and mirrors magic that bit too far eventually as they were so high on their own supply so couldn't imagine there could be anyone to ever say no and be powerful enough to mean it and stop them. Now there is. Kudos!

Hopefully, this will die down.

I'm wondering if California's prisons will put the men back where they're supposed to be? Would the individual states be allowed to decide?
Unfortunately, California and Washington state will probably be the last to relent. They are wasting millions of our tax money (I live in WA) to 'Trump Proof' the state against the revocation of gender feels (among other issues). Eventually it will trickle down, but not for awhile yet, methinks.
“Trans identifying male” Is hard for them to argue with.

Lets give the kudos to the right person - May Mailman, a lawyer who really understand the issues here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqs6LBnWjno

I was anti Trump when I was still plugged into the mainstream news stations. I've since discovered I was being lied to.
I think most of us are disillusioned lefties but as you say, thank goodness for Trump and Musk.
What a wonderful week. Who’d have thought that Trump would give us such hope and let’s not forget the opening up of free speech by Musk.

It doesn't look very hopeful for us. Something drastic would have to happen politically.
I'm glad about the USA anyway. It was satisfying to hear about Trumps executive orders 😊

Good stuff for sure.
Thanks for the cheering news as ever, JL.
I really enjoyed the send off of Glinner with Toby Young the other night.
I had great pleasure in reproducing the entirety of Trump's gender smashing executive order yesterday

I have just heard that all federal 'diversity staff' have been put on paid leave😁
Great videos BTW

(and love the Die Hard clip - a favourite movie)
Glad you enjoyed both the EO and the movie clip😄
Unfortunately the Democrats are currently doubling down but let's see if they can have a re-think. It needs to be a very, very big re-think!!

As always 🌹
Looks as though the Donald is meaning what he actually said
He might be a lunatic but he’s ‘our ‘ lunatic 😂
😂
You know what I meant 😂
My brother played golf with him a few years ago ( get me ! My invite to the white house is in the post lol )
He said he was extremely nice and gracious and very kind to the wait staff
I’m impressed! I can imagine him being gracious. Perhaps you could put a word in that we need some help over here.😁
Think musk is on it 😂
The muppets all together remind me of photos of TRA events.
I protest! That’s much too unkind to the Muppets. 😁
I was hoping Trump would get in. And so far it looks as though he's doing what he said he would.
And from the first day.
So much better than my disappointment in Obama, who basically ignored, indeed backtracked on, all of the reasons that people voted for him (get out of the wars, no mandates for health insurance tied to corporations, etc) in the first three weeks of his reign.

We expect our politicians to backtrack after elections. They do it every time.
