Some moments are Just Right and everything aligns. This might be one of those moments for people to begin contacting that Giant List of Stonewall champions and asking why they haven't cut ties yet.
This is great news but I am disturbed by the EHRC's statement in their letter to Sex Matters that their Stonewall Diversity Champions membership was an internal matter that had no influence on their external activities. Even if this were true, which seems unlikely, their Diversity Champions status has certainly affected their reputation and standing when it comes to women's and girls' rights under law and the extent to which we have felt protected and able to raise our concerns. I have often felt while this was going on, "If the EHRC won't support us, who will" and I don't think I am alone. I would imagine that EHRC's membership has also influenced other organisations to become Diversity Champions, so increasing and perpetuating the harm. Only a properly conducted inquiry will give us the answers.
Can I remind people that a) Stonewall has charitable status, b) that, as I first discovered when LGB Alliance was granted that status, it's against the rules for charities to campaign for the removal of other people's rights and c) that is exactly what SW was doing when petitioning the government to remove the exceptions for same sex spaces in the Equality Act 2010.
Therefore SW should have ìts charitable status revoked.
First step - raise the issue with SW directly. Next step after getting the SW brush off - make a complaint to the Charity Commission.
Lots of us need to do this. Wouldn't it be great to see another nail in their coffin?
Just watched The Mess We're in (I'm Debbie Taylor btw) and it was truly glorious. I absolutely love the live chat and the amount of positive energy today was amazing. Long may it continue!
GL and the Sunshine Gang! These developments would never have happened without you constantly shining light on the dark deeds of this shower of scumbags. Incredible achievement!
Brilliant! I was feeling pissed off after spotting a promo for breast binding on Russia's wall of women during Eurovision last night, but this has perked me right up.
This is glorious, I am going to relish the slow death of this organisation. It's sad that the trustees/directors and employees can't all sink while Stonewall is renewed with some truly representative LGBT people. It was once a really positive charity from what understand but feels like the brand is too damaged now.
The 'mean girls' response from Stonewall on Twitter should be enough to convince any corporate members of Stonewall to walk (nay run) away swiftly. When will organisations learn not to leave the social media accounts in the hands of the children? Or maybe all of Stonewall is in the hands of the children, more likely.
This is glorious. I've just been taking bets with a friend about who's left Stonewall. Okay, I lost, but I don't care....

And of course Germany just decided against self ID this week, and France, Spain, and Sweden have all also just made significant decisions...
The snowball has begun to roll downhill. Time to turn it into an avalanche.
Currently not being reported in the Graun.
So pleased for everyone of course, but for Maya Forstater especially

Hooray! Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for Stonewall!

History teaches us that all tyrannical authoritarian twats fall in the end.
Woo hoo!!

Fab news.. bye bye Stonegall 👋🏼
Oh, this has cheered me up!
Still a long way to go, I know, but it’s a start - and I was beginning to feel it was a lost battle.
