I don't think I'm going to call the police because how would they be able to find whoever did this? I'm actually quite happy they're Still so annoyed by me that they went to the trouble. I was worried that with my Twitter suspension I'd lose my reach, but someone out there is unhappy with me and that makes me happy.

A lot of people are offering suggestions about how I can go about correcting this or erasing it or whatever. But I think it's a useful lesson. In the same way that dictionary.com made an absolute tit of itself with their original definition of the slur terf, this kind of just shows to me how are you really shouldn't be taking the Internet seriously as a source of information. Rupert Murdoch has been replaced by a bunch of Silicon Valley shut-ins and it's no improvement

Surely this is actionable? A malicious attempt to cause harm to your reputation.

Shit. That's horrific. Are you going to involve the police?

Utterly insane.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. It's such a vicious, ugly attack on your name and must feel so intrusive.

Internally, IMDb should have a log with the IP of where changes were made. (Though I'm quite bad at computer-doings, so I'm not sure how precise it would be, or what they could do with it)

It seems to be a case of the pedophiles striking back. I do hope you can find out who or what group did this and correct the wrong they have done.

It’s just so fucking childish but also really insidious. Do IMDB have a report function you can use?

If you were a career politician you'd be better shielded and be able to bat this stuff off more easily, you'd have visceral backing and feel more protected. I see you suffering from personal attacks same as people like Caroline Farrow. Even Mother Theresa wasn't without her critics, and she had church to protect her. I took heart from this recently when I realised I've been subject to someone actively campaigning against what I am doing, from a position I consider inside camp. When you were savaged by Smith on BBC Newsnight and Davis on BBC PM my heart went out to you. Those events shook my trust in the BBC. Career politicians are coached in developing a thick skin if they didn't already have one, and have legal departments to sort out this type of rubbish. I bet there are specialist coaches who would give you pro bono perspective about this type of attack, and help you to 100% believe that what you are doing is important and meaningful to lots of people, like my family, and that your detractors are as significant as gnat bites. I've even considered joining the conservative party as a way of gaining a shield, though that's not guaranteed. I've heard Kellie-Jay consider this out loud.

I've already commented on the above, but just found this: https://thebaffler.com/latest/the-future-is-androgynous-winterhalter, a man's discussion of what feminism is or should be. Firestone is the feminist theorist at the heart of the piece. The writer conveniently leaves out the fact that Firestone also supported the eventual acceptance of sex between adults and children or that she was tragically diagnosed as a schizophrenic (whether she really was or not, I do not know, but she was committed or committed herself for a time). The article discusses the androgynous future based in science and speculation and is accompanied by a picture of a a man who is a cross dresser. Perhaps someone will correct me on that if they are familiar with the name of the person. So, to sum up, more support for a pansexual future through a transgender future and the project of melding the sexes. The author doesn't go into anything in much detail, straddling the line of "Anything goes." but enlisting Firestone in his belief that men are women and women are men while ignoring any discussion of the transgender movement and the legitimate arguments of many gay males and lesbians that the nature of much of homosexuality is as pathological as much of heterosexuality. (The Baffler is a journal that doesn't support the abolition of prostitution or pornography or commercial surrogacy, but does support economic equality.) I suspect the world he or she evokes will still be the same old, same old patriarchy. I hope that people here will read it and give their take on it. It's very brief.
