I love Elaine Miller and also all the content you produce Graham. If you want to reach a much wider audience, please consider having subtitles/cc-captioning. It would be great for all people who 1) are not good understanding accents, 2) who are not English mother-tongue or 3) have hearing problems.

Btw., English is not my first language. While I have no problems understanding US, Scottish or Irish accents, unless they are extremely strong, pronounced English accents tend to be a bit of a problem for me. Not much of an issue with Glinner's videos, obviously, but still...
Oh, we native English speakers are terrible. Notoriously, we speak only one language - and that one, we don't speak very well. I have a Derbyshire accent, but after years of working in London I learned to tone it down enough for most other English people to understand when necessary. I work remotely with people from all over the world, and English is used as the lingua franca. Now when the Indians, Russians, Portugese, Americans, Mexicans, Polish etc speak we all understand. Whenever I do, it always ends in a baffled silence and I have to circulate something by email, chat or whatever because I know they haven't understood anything, but are too polite to say so.
Not my experience with English native speakers in general - but it does happen with strictly English people with strong accents. Don't ask me why.
Mind, btw, we Austrians kinda make the same impression on native German speakers from other countries, let alone on people with another first language. (And don't get me started on how Austrian dialects are often not mutually intelligible) I communicate a lot with people not born here and have training as a radio announcer, so I can avoid that experience in my own dealings with others, but sadly, that's not the case with most Austrians. So the first thing I always say to people with some knowlegde of German - and even Germans - who visit the country for the first time: Don't even try to understand anything people will say to you for the first couple of days.
I have no problem understanding US and Canadian accents but Irish and Scottish are extraordinarily difficult. Some English people are also difficult to understand. The problem is also that they often have no notion that they can be so difficult to understand. If you ask them to repeat, they repeat the exact same words in the exact same way (perhaps louder). Very frustrating and a shame because their audience is limited to the people who understands the accent. I must add that I love accents and not want to suppress them. But I think the ability to tone them down when necessary and adapt your communication to your audience is crucial.
Try being deaf. Everyone is hard to understand! Most people do not speak clearly and even if they do, they turn their heads away or cover their mouths so it is hard to lip read... Men with beards, no chance of understanding them unless they are standing beside me!
We have a lot of regional accents, and some are quite strong. Sometimes also with their own slang or local dialect words. But how about Helen’s Welsh accent?
I dare even say that the trans debate is based on negating all existing evidence.
One example is that children understand the difference between women and men very early, but it's not until they are about seven or eight that they understand that those differences are fixed. That rules out that children under that age could have ideas like "I am actually a girl born in a boy's body" on their own. This is not how a child's grasp on biological sex works. Every "trans child" we are presented with is a claim that a century or more of well established findings in developmental pyschology with its tons of empirical evidence does not exist.
The first is a good one because you can send it to your female friends on the basis of- watch this and learn that if we don’t do pelvic floor exercises we’ll end up in old peoples homes and it’s so engaging they can stay and be peaked for the rest!
Thank heavens for deeply wonderful, compassionate Elaine! Some of us have been waiting YEARS for someone with smarts and sense finally to speak out with questions and some answers about what testosterone at 'transition' levels actually, truly does to females. In combination with estrogen deprivation. It was a no brainer that it must be seriously deleterious in multiple ways, but the collective lack of inquisitiveness, failure to study and the overall silence have been shocking.
It's so great that the puny refusal of the Scots survey makers to accept this woman's professional submission on the pathetic basis of alleged formatting impropriety spurred her to storm The House of bloody Lords. Ha.
But what a scandal that no one has really been asking before, no one has really cared. Least of all, too many of those who claim to care deeply about 'trans health care'. 'First Do No Harm', my a*se. They couldn't care less about all the young converts getting chemically screwed over via wrong-sex hormones.

I liked the second one. A woman who engages in serious thinking - with the right knowledge and professional practice to make a difference. Absolutely she needs to be talking to major journalists and the government - women can live more comfortable in their bodies by understanding them better. Female bodies are far more complex than is realised. Loved her mention of Davina McCall . I now realise, like so many other women, that I have been let down badly - visiting mainly male GPS or younger female GPS and never getting anywhere - none recognised the symptoms and reading magazines or going on websites doesn’t work that well . There is so much rubbish in the media. Thousands of women used to do things like stick yoghurt up their ***** (and get infections as a result). My being let down was before the gender ideology lobby capturing the NHS. I think it might be the reason NHS fell so heavily - there’s not enough knowledge about women’s bodies. Elaine’s worries about young women taking testosterone need to be taken seriously at the very highest level. Its a much, much more serious home remedy. Life long damage and ruined lives
I went to my GP many years back now with what I now know were classic signs of diabetes. He told me it was my age...I was in my 40s...and that the symptoms would probably go away soon...Of course, they didn't and weeks later, I was back, saw a differnt dr and he knew straight away.
Her videos are excellent. You can even forward the links to them to friends who might be on the fence, without risking eternal opprobrium. She is a compassionate, hilarious, evidence-based education. Agree about subtitles. Easier to read than watch and listen for those who are only just considering coming on board and who might be in the same room as those who are, er, precontemplative.

I think people who know me know I’m not a hateful person so don’t unfriend me, but just ignore anything ‘controversial’. Elaine’s talk is genuinely very educational about women’s health issues.

At least FB allows you to shut down your page, but even then, folks worry about other people on your page...The Vast Suppression Plan has, so far, worked very well, but the lid is coming off now and they just can't get it to go back on again.

Graham can speak for himself but my view is that more and more people are switching on to the ‘debate’ due to the men in Women’s sports debacle. LThomas being the most recent example. People not on Social Media don’t know about the ideology. They think trans is a Gay issue and we should be kind. Trans is not a sexual orientation.

I have been banned for calling a man a man, with a boob job and open wound, which it is until it heals. It is not a vagina, it is a medicalised man purporting very badly to be a woman. I will never in my life be coerced or pressured to call a man a woman, maybe I'll join GL in the obsessive camp.

Unfortunately they are not accurate and don't like Scottish accents. I know, I am deaf! I lip read and got most of the video that way.
