This is Henrietta Freeman, who has been paralysed since birth. She asked Karen Power, now on the cover of the Sunday Times and on her 2000th bar of Twix since Thursday, if she, Henrietta, was allowed to choose the sex of her carer since she’s paralysed and doesn’t wish to be touched by a male, regardless of their gender identity. Here’s a short interview with Henrietta that explains her position.

I’m not a fan generally of the Daily Mail as gender criticality aside my politics are the polar opposite, but surely they are one of the few news outlets currently brave enough in either Ireland or the UK to scream this story to high heavens, as it needs to be?!
Hen is an amazing woman so selfless in her campaigning, as a result she constantly gets piled on by vile men and sadly women but she takes it all in her stride. She shouldn’t have to. Dignity and safety matter. Thank you Hen 💕
Give me an overtly bad person over a virtuously smug one. Any day. The virtuous ones, like Karen Power, who are so WRONG but smarmily claim ‘kindness’ and ‘open mindedness’, are really really hard to stomach. It’s just that extra layer of irritation that makes them nearly impossible to take. (Forgive them for they know not what they do.)
That karen power is a vile disgusting pathetic excuse for a politician and should be sacked. How dare she. Wish I could be more eloquent but that would just result in expletives!
