Disagree on narcissism being an element of gender dysphoria, necessarily. The problem is that "gender dysphoria" as a condition is too ill defined. It applies to 4 year old boys, 35 year old lesbian women, 60 year old heterosexual men... what can it even be, then? My wife is a dysphoric, butch lesbian and is the most other centered human. One of life's listeners, generous, and lovely. She chooses to live with her condition and to learn to love the skin she's in without transition, and I find that incredibly brave, and hot, and wonderful. Not at all narcissistic, not to be judged as such. Maybe you mean it's an element of people who are dysphoric and choose to deal with that through hormones and surgeries?
I agree that GD has been "adopted" by many different groups. I simply think that my lazy, selfish ex-husband wanted to escape with my money, to be honest!
