I've just read Kemi Badenoch's voting record on gay rights, that appears to more than Nicolson has done. She has never voted against gay rights. This guy is just the typical talentless SNP nobody we are so blessed to have here in Scotland

That is quite something. So he is openly lying, yet they gasbag about Tories in Westminster doing that. Weren't there some rules about openly lying in Parliaments and misleading the House? And to do so in court shows some supreme no one-can-touch-me attitude.

he's lucky he wasn't under oath

no not in these tribunals, apparently

Either way I understand people view this very dimly indeed (looks down nose, knits eyebrows and peers through glasses at this point). It's not a good look.

Openly lying is widely accepted up here , salmond, Murray , Hirst, Singh , I could go on ,go on ,go on (sorry , I’ll get ma coat )

You may have missed Craig Murray off the list.

Following the court reporting of the Alex Salmond trial, the Jounalist/blogger was jailed for the newly invented charge of 'Jigsaw Identification' by way of contempt of court.

Even a fool knows a jigsaw has more than one piece.

One other journalist actually 'accidentally' named one of the 'alphabet' women, didn't even get a slap on the wrist.

I thought that was a bit odd. Kemi wasn't even an MP when votes on gay rights were coming through parliament. She was only elected in 2017...

This could be addressed behind the scenes but I'd prefer a formal approach, maybe direct communication between the two offices, parties, or even a question in either Westminster or Holyrood. The Presiding Officer or Speaker could address a Question. It'd be good to have this in Hansard. A correction or an apology and agreement to not do it again (some hope, the lying toerags).

"KM - Have you read the Cass Review?

JN - I have read a short summary."

Is anyone representing Mermaids going to admit to having read the Cass Review? I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that you don't get to ignore the most pivotal investigation into the subject you're supposing to be discussing, by saying you haven't read it properly. It's not as if the lawyer's going to stop asking you about it; it just means you look grossly uninformed.

It's pretty wild to think that these are the best people Mermaids could find to take the stand.

I am STILL not over this! Maybe they hear "have you read this week's horoscopes?"

Totally devoid of all reality. But then, they also think it's possible to make little boys out of little girls and vice versa. So I suppose it stands to reason.

I'm with you on this Key E. How you can be born in the wrong body when your body is also you is a joke. If they stopped defining people with regressive gender stereotypes then everyone would be ok!

Expand full comment

It's revolting, isn't it? I still don't think people are aware that they've been sterilising children...

They don't. I peaked someone last week and they had no clue. They were horrified.

So what DO people think? I reckon they think it's non-conforming children living as the opposite sex, which it IS, but they're being medicalised!! :(

P.s. Well done for peaking someone!

Expand full comment

The person I peaked just thought it was people being allowed to dress how they wanted and referred to how they wanted so their attitude was that they were fine with it because people should not constrained by their sex and if girls wnat to have short hair and play football then that was good and likewise if boys want to wear make-up then that should be ok too. I had to explain that it was the opposite of this adn took stereotypes and enforced them, then told kids that if they didn't conform to the stereotype for their sex then they could be in the wrong body adn send them on a path of lifelong medicalisation and potentially surgery. She had no idea. She was also horrified when I told her about the cotton ceiling. The media are completely complicit in public ignorance.

That’s not what they want or need to discuss, it’s just smashing any chance of LGBA having a charitable status.

JN in response to the reminder that people [mostly GC], in their opposition to self-id, are concerned about the erosion of sex based rights:

"I've read on Twitter that's their opinion".

Haha. I bet he has. The understatement of the year from the man who cannot say the word 'child' on the grounds it incriminates him. (thank you Helen S.).

Expand full comment

Of course JN refers to that 'trans' buzz term -- 'lived experience', as opposed to that pesky 'unlived experience' that men-pretending-to-be-women can actually claim.

Expand full comment

There's a glaring sense of entitlement and petulance from JNs responses .

It continues to amaze me that they think these responses and the tone/optics are effective .

Looking foward to hearing Mr Kavanagh thoughts on ' does petulance impress judges ? ' .

"JN - what do you mean narrative. It is their lived experienced.

" KM - do you understand the view of LGBA is that sex matters and that this reform will undermine sex based rights."

1. A narrative is part of lived experience.

2. What about the lived experience of LGB people who can see their narrative being steamrollered by trans activism?

The political cloaking of a mental illness is profoundly damaging to women, children and society.

I remember going to a group medical practice with a sore throat, where one of the male doctors (not mine, thanks God!) was suddenly showing up for appointments in dangly earrings and make-up. He didn't bother covering his already bald head. I told my doctor that I just can't take that guy's advice seriously and if I got tossed over into his schedule when my doctor was out, I'd just have to wait. My doctor nodded understandingly, and I knew he was carefully avoiding anything that might be quoted.

That was tortuous, every question felt like...

KM - "You would agree would you not that the sky is up?"

JN - "That's transphobic."

Expand full comment

Come now, be fair, none of us are sky shade or location assessing experts, that's preposterous to even venture to ask us. Huge respect to those in the proceedings who didn't tell him and other witnesses to STFU and answer the damn questions.

Yes! I imagine some present must have been wringing the air with their bare hands in frustration at his flights of fancy. He goes off like a rocket made of stupid with no guidance system.

JN - "Up? Up is a relative term, and now that I come to think of it so is 'grandmother', proving that LGBA clearly thinks that the heavens are wallpapered with nans, and in the lived experience of all my friends this is wrong. As well as transphobic."

Expand full comment

So LGBA is lobbying the right offices, but the wrong people are in the offices. LGBA is wrong about everything because he says so. No concerns are valid whatsoever because someone tweeted at him. Nicholson's not even trans but he's got the ego for it.
