"Kiddie stuff" is deliberately neutral, amoral usage by a child sexual abuser intended to eliminate any suggestion of harm.
Whereas "kiddie fiddling" is actually condemnatory but tends to reflect the embarassment of the speaker (UK, older generation?) in referring to sex at all -- let alone something as unspeakable as child sexual abuse.
Making the words more palatable to say (plus helping to avoid thinking about what they mean) unfortunately diminishes the apparent seriousness of the act too.
