This has been a week of good news. Today in the House of Commons? Are you kidding me? This was a sublime moment. And then there was Joanna Cherry’s speech. It’s embarrassing that a woman like Cherry has to explain these completely obvious points to women who have put their careers ahead of doing the right thing. Shame on all of them.

Frankly, a womb is not a definition of womanhood as a few women do not have one yet they are definitely women. There have also been rare cases of men who had a womb inside them. Some of these are men who have fathered (not given birth to) children and were not aware of having a womb, which was only discovered during an operation. It would seem these fathers did not feel they were assigned the wrong sex at birth. A few internal glitches do not alter the male/female genetic definition.

Sure, some women are infertile, but A.] that isn't the norm; and B.] it isn't for trans-identified males, either (barring voluntarily making themselves so)-- many have biological children, after all. Not being fertile AS WOMEN doesn't make men infertile: by THAT logic (unable to reproduce as the opposite sex), every human who's ever lived is infertile! Including those with dozens of bio-kids + more on the way!
