Joanna Cherry ; shortarse in stature , a giant in integrity . Any chance of getting her on The Mess ?

I'd have preferred 'wee' to shortarse but still, I quite agree with your sentiments

Re. Women’s Equality Party: damn right asking for the definition of woman is a gotcha moment. It’s the one question that trips and traps them all. Almost as good as “does a woman have a penis?”.

Brilliant speech from Joanna Cherry. She really nailed it 👍👍👍 How can Nicola Sturgeon apologise for the witch hunts of 500 years ago ,while at the same time casually throwing away women's rights now ,and thereby endangering their safety ,privacy and dignity.? Utterly Bizarre

She seems to be capable of doing meaninglessness things which generate limited interest and no opposition. Apologising for something she isn't responsible for to women who aren't around to accept her apology or tell her to stick it up her arse, is as inconsequential as it gets. Done, as you say, in the light of making more changes that potentially damage and threaten the freedoms and safety of women who actually exist now. Despicable woman.

Totally agree. Some " feminist to my fingertips " she's shown herself to be ,centering men's rights because of course they've suddenly become the most marginalised group ,while women are miysteriously labelled as the oppressors !! DARVO indeed .👎💔

Re: the "Women be quiet and apologize" BS -- If he believes TWAW then why aren't TRAs all over him for him for this 'literal violence'? After all, isn't he effectively telling TW to shut up and say sorry, too? lol, just kidding. We all know who the women are when it comes to male abuse.

That's a really good point. Shows they know exactly what a woman is.

Only 52% of 'people' can get periods, so how on earth can 61% be ashamed to have one?? It seems Always can't do arithmetic. Or maybe the genderwoo is affecting their brains.

Anneliese Dodds performance on BBC's Woman's Hour was yet another all-time low from Labour.

Starmer, Lammy, Cooper, Reeves and Dodds have all made themselves look ridiculous by being unable to answer with a simple truth. Why do they do it? Truth can be so life enhancing. Tell the truth and shame the Devil as my Mum used to say.

Let us not forget Nandy, who said a named child-rapist should be placed in a women's prison and have his crime recorded as a female crime, and Rayner, who was 'saving a place' in parliament for nasty bully-boy 'CLP Women's Officer 'Lily'/Liam MadIgan.

Also, sitting right there in the IWD debate, Maria Miller and Penny Mordaunt both of whom have said TWAW. Mordaunt (whose brother was engaged to David Paisley) said TWAW FROM THE DISPATCH BOX IN THE MIDST OF A DEBATE ABOUT MATERNITY LEAVE

We should have a “Wanted” poster of these culprits. Every time one of them spouts TWAW or the like then they should go on the wall. Can’t decide if I would put Nicola Sturgeon or Starmer in Bulls Eye position. He’s an idiot but she is more sinister so I think she probably wins.

Yes, Sturgeon, since she has far more power than Starmer

Be great if they all end up in jail . There won't be enough prisons to hold all the people who have promoted and supported this abhorrent ideology !!

I know what the election results in the U.S. will be in November; both houses of Congress will be Republican. Biden won't really mind, he much prefers Republicans to Democrats who believe in passe notions such as public housing, welfare, peace, etc. But in two more years Biden will be gone as well, if he doesn't keel over before then.

Does anyone know who the MP was behind Joanna Cherry? Not the mauve-haired one. Whoever she was, she non-stop fidgeted and fiddled with her phone, then her ipad, through a brilliant speech, even during the first part where Joanna was referring to the particular suffering of women in wars and in this instance, Ukraine. Was she trying to signal disdain for Joanna Cherry? It seemed so to me. Either way, it was frickin irritating and distracting and I had to zoom in on Joanna to crop whoever she was out of the picture.

Both women were on their phones, not paying attention to wonderful Joanna Cherry. Ggahh! I agree, hard to watch.

Expand full comment

The non-mauve one was particularly annoying though. Mauvehead at least went through the motions of listening in the end. I ban fiddling with phones at the dinner table here, so you'd think that an MP could lay off the phone for at least five minutes while a fellow MP is discussing violence against women and girls.

Would you were an MP! The world would be a better place. Seems, for the most part, the wrong people are in charge.

Is that Shirley Anne Somerville? I looked through photos of them all and that is the most likely.

Madley's surpassed himself there. Even his role model Partridge would've been embarrassed to come out with that kind of shite (and he was quite partial to a ladyboy!).

I have quite a soft spot for Madeley. There are nuggets of gold in him sometimes. But he really needs to f off with the 'be kind' shit - no Richard, YOU be kind to your fellow men and accept them in all their glorious variety (including the AGP ones)

"Isn’t there a legal case to be taken against Twitter for the way that company is policing and controlling the debate?" - Here in the US, a law called "Section 230" of the Communications Decency Act gives social media companies wide latitude to curate their platforms and immunity from most individual legal redress. Short answer: no, at least not yet.

I expect the issue will get revisited in congressional hearings in the next Congress, which will almost certainly be Republican-controlled. The GOP base is calling for Mark Zuckerberg's head, and they are very good at getting what they want out of their party.

It is always depressing to find I agree with the GOP; I too would like to see Zuckerberg's head on a platter.

It's also good news that the age of consent in the Philippines has been raised from 12 to 16, and disappointing for the gender ideology paedophiles who are constantly try to "blur the lines" on it. The global trend is more safeguarding, not less.

My tuppence worth - 1. Why are the Tavi senior management still in post? after 2 massive legal cases, CQC's 'inadequate', turning down Kate Grimes cos her beliefs in biology didn't fit their 'values' and now the Cass review? who is not doing their job here?

2. Annalise Dodds was backed into a corner and still couldn't manage to say the what a woman is - she kept on about 'but I mentioned the EQA'? - Labour are in an existential crisis and I love every minute of it.

Shows how stupid some tras are if they believe that all you need to get pregnant is a womb ,either through transplant or artificial invention !! They never mention egg producing ovaries at all ,an essential ingredient of course !!🙄🙈

Sod it, let's just experiment on a willing trans idiot. Let's just see what will happen to a with a womb. I predict it will be ugly and mostly hurt the guinea pig (or sow, if they want it gendered).

Frankly, a womb is not a definition of womanhood as a few women do not have one yet they are definitely women. There have also been rare cases of men who had a womb inside them. Some of these are men who have fathered (not given birth to) children and were not aware of having a womb, which was only discovered during an operation. It would seem these fathers did not feel they were assigned the wrong sex at birth. A few internal glitches do not alter the male/female genetic definition.

Yeah, if TWAW, then why would these transplants even be necessary in the first place? They aren't for the vast majority of reproductive-age women. Sure, some women are infertile, but A.] that isn't the norm; and B.] it isn't for trans-identified males, either (barring voluntarily making themselves so)-- many have biological children, after all. Not being fertile AS WOMEN doesn't make men infertile: by THAT logic (unable to reproduce as the opposite sex), every human who's ever lived is infertile! Including those with dozens of bio-kids + more on the way!

Expand full comment

And this stuff fits right in with what Polly in Vermont and Diana Johnstone discussed in their hour-long discussion. Bearing children isn't the definition of a woman, XX chromosomes are. And thankfully the artificial womb crap will never happen due to male pelvic structure.
