One of their 'Test your knowledge' questions on giving 'Better Care to Trans Patients':

"A woman rings 999 and explains her sister has fallen down the stairs. When you ask

for a name the woman says “his name is James”. What pronouns should you use

for the patient?

a. She/Her

b. Him/His

c. They/Them

d. Ask if the patient is a male or female"

... or, instead of worrying about pronouns:

e. tell then to not move the patient, find out if they are breathing, etc, etc.

I hadn’t realised that Fallon Fox had ended the careers of the 2 women mentioned, nor knew that he was even male when they fought him. That is very disturbing and takes away consent entirely. I’d heard he had hidden he was trans but hadn’t dawned on me that women were then unknowingly getting in the ring with him. Surely there would be a law suit there? I wonder why he kept being trans hidden? The cynic in me thinks this was purely to get all the glory in the name of being a woman, because otherwise he would be shit as a man in the ring. But I’ll bet the spin is that he just wanted to be discreet.

I am so cross, Ambulance service, the recent guardian article and Mr. Fox - what in the world is happening???

When a paramedic is on scene treating a person who is in need of immediate care, who cares what he or she refers to that person as - as long as medical needs are met and treated!!! Why would you care? If you're able to critique a paramedic or anyone treating you in an emergency situation - do you really need emergency medical care?

Tip of the day - if you think you need an ambulance but are having thoughts about the operator using or not using the right pronouns STOP, put the phone down, get yourself down to Boots for some vitamins to perk up your much needed sad life!

Its going to get to the point where women won't feel comfortable with ambulances, I fear.
