Ok, this one is so insane, it took a few days before I was able to convince myself it wasn’t a parody. But it appears to be real!
But it’s real, all right.
There’s a revealing line early on: “Trans people are often expected to educate and explain trans issues to healthcare staff who are lacking in education.” This is that specific form of education that amounts to “trans people must be centred in everything”, whether the record backs it up or not.
The claims are so nutty it’s hard to know where to begin. Perhaps with the fact that that they’re trying to trans Bowie?
There’s a whole section entitled “Trans People and the Stonewall Riots” which is full of the usual lies/historical revisionism.
It spins the now-familiar fiction about the Stonewall riot being started by trans people and regurgitates vague references to, “Transgender women of colour.”
Even a modicum of research would reveal that Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P Johnson, the two black men whose lives are frequently appropriated by trans activists, were not trans; they were gay male drag queens. And by his own admission, Johnson was not even present at the start of the riot.
For a true account of what happened at the Stonewall Inn that night, listen to eye witness, Fred Sargeant on the subject.
This list of ‘dos and donts will be familiar to anyone who has dealt with this most demanding, fragile and controlling of demographics.
But it’s in the sports section where it goes from being demanding to downright disturbing.
One of the trans sports stars listed is mixed martial arts fighter, Fallon Fox.
For the uninitiated, Fallon Fox served in the US navy before transitioning in 2006. He later took up MMA fighting, women's MMA fighting, that is.
On 2nd March 2013 Fox took just 39 seconds to defeat Ericka Newsome in an MMA fight. He whacked her in the face with this kneecap, rendered her unconscious and she never fought professionally again. In September 2014 Fox crushed Tamikka Brents' skull, ending her career. Neither Newsome nor Brents had been informed of Fox's trans status; they had no idea they were being expected to get in the ring with a male.
So let’s recap. This is an official guide for frontline NHS staff that features countless untruths, out-and-out propaganda and, most horrifically, celebrates a man who severely beat up two women and still boasts about it.
NOTE: Ben here brought the guide to our attention. Ben, if you read this, I’d love to publish whatever you have to say on the matter. Get in touch!
One of their 'Test your knowledge' questions on giving 'Better Care to Trans Patients':
"A woman rings 999 and explains her sister has fallen down the stairs. When you ask
for a name the woman says “his name is James”. What pronouns should you use
for the patient?
a. She/Her
b. Him/His
c. They/Them
d. Ask if the patient is a male or female"
... or, instead of worrying about pronouns:
e. tell then to not move the patient, find out if they are breathing, etc, etc.
I hadn’t realised that Fallon Fox had ended the careers of the 2 women mentioned, nor knew that he was even male when they fought him. That is very disturbing and takes away consent entirely. I’d heard he had hidden he was trans but hadn’t dawned on me that women were then unknowingly getting in the ring with him. Surely there would be a law suit there? I wonder why he kept being trans hidden? The cynic in me thinks this was purely to get all the glory in the name of being a woman, because otherwise he would be shit as a man in the ring. But I’ll bet the spin is that he just wanted to be discreet.
