I was actually thinking this, too, recently ... if the problem is that handmaiden types think expressing support for this makes them virtuous and that it won't cost them anything ... as well as that the public at large doesn't really know what's at stake (definitely an issue here in the States) ... then the obvious thing to do is have large numbers of decent, sympathetic men, dressed and behaving as men, infiltrate women's bathrooms and changing rooms loudly and en masse -- and when anyone protests, politely explain that the government has decreed that anyone is a woman who says he is.
And yes, gender being allowed to change back and forth appears to be one of the precepts of this insanity here in the States. As a convicted criminal, you can, in a number of states (including California, where I live), demand incarceration in a women's prison because you "ID as a woman" or even because you "don't exclusively ID as a man."

Living as a woman acc to the official guidance means changing your pronouns and title eg mr to ms or mx on utility bills or similar. That is literally all it takes to change sex. If you do it just to annoy your parents or because you're a mixed up teenager, you can never reverse it. Keira Bell will be legally male for the rest of her life.
I would rather that was a clear case of her being under the influence of some foul propagandists and that she could have a dispensation to change it back. And that was made simple and less hoop-jumping. That is possible. And doesn't that point to which is permanent or able to be 'edited'. How you can change such fundamental documents so lightly, and with attempts to make it even easier is appalling.
I had some documents stolen so don't have the originals and it's caused a huge amount of admin burden. I've often been accidentally 'transed' with admin errors, so was I accidentally and unknowingly 'living in the male gender role' whatever that is? To prove who you are with utility bills which often get names wrong as standard and charge you for any other random usage or address. Then I was mistakenly assumed to be 'not entitled' to NHS care and that took some admin hurdling to address. I took my passport to the GP but still that didn't sort it. Many were determined the 'record' must be correct. The constant attacks on me demanding I justify my identity were difficult and with some very unpleasant admin people (and some very apologetic). I can't imagine the acceptance you must have to go through to live regretting a 'transition'. Or having 'transitioned' then still not feeling content or with the same underlying issues to address.
I found it in turns funny or annoying that with certain purchases or registrations I was assumed to be a 'Mr' and all attempts to change that were refused. It happens a lot with cars, engineering and tech, so when I turn up there are a few raised eyebrows but I'm used to it. Some have taken a few moments to realise the person they assumed to be a man is actually a woman on Zoom or Teams. Then been all discombobulated. There is a case being heard in the Supreme Court right now as to whether or not Scotland can have our own referendum without Westminster's permission. It is almost certain to fail.
