Gunning for Elaine Miller is proof positive that TRAs and their supine supporters have no interest in objective reality. Make no mistake, we're not just fighting for women, children, LGB, etc - we're fighting for civilization based on Enlightenment values. If we lose, a new Dark Age will overtake us very quickly.

'mediocre men and their credulous allies'. Perfectly expressed. Love that you're such a big supporter of Elaine, Graham. She's one of the good ones.

A five star review for Jordan Gray’s Is It a Bird?

“Archly satirical ....radically revealing ..... tremendous songs .... expertly executed .....Jordan Gray aspires to the exceptionalism of superheroes and achieves it with her phenomenal second Fringe hour. ...makes hers' seem like the only identity worth having .... triumphantly accomplished...delivers hilarious observations .... would grace any headlining club set, ....Along the way, she makes the likes of Ricky Gervais and J.K. Rowling seem as ridiculous as the bat-obsessed caped crusader for their trans views, beautifully pastiching bigots' perception of her....”

And “she all but refuses to accept vulnerability, assuming her superiority to the mere mortals watching her”. And yes I am aware of the self-consciously ironic tone there – but I don’t fall for that false modesty crap.

And then, “a romp and a riot of an hour that will undoubtedly pick up extra performances in a bigger venue.” Oh I’m sure Jordan will get those bigger venues. He/she/it/himhurrrr has been marked in an aggressive media tie-in as designated “Star that can’t be stopped now!”

And as for revealing his/her/its/harramba's willie, well you see it's a groovy trans willie and therefore a thing of beauty unlike the evil Sadowitz schlong.

The fringe used to be great , diverse ,wild and extremely funny , if you didn’t like someone or their stuff you didn’t go

Now the arseholes go to be offended and cancel

I wouldn’t have went to see Jerry as I don’t really like his sense of humour but I’d never have complained about someone else liking it

Unfortunately I used to really like izzard now I wouldn’t pee on him if he was on fire

I assume everything upcoming at the pleasance lives up to their "values".

They have a man doing a "cat-drag" act for 2 weeks this month

https://www.pleasance.co.uk/event/audience-milly-liu#overview

"be warned, Milly-Liu takes no prisoners and will throw you around like a half-dead mouse. Orville the duck said: “She made me cum, twice... and I’m not even a cat.”

One reviewer wrote about this show

"It’s also not the kind of show where you can sit at a comfortable distance from the action and tuck into a box of Matchmakers. Fourth wall? Never heard of her. Milly-Liu stalks the aisles, occasionally dragging some helpless sod into the limelight like a petrified mouse. Pet owners who are used to getting an early-morning cat backside in the face may find some aspects of tonight’s performance…strangely familiar."

I've no problem whatsoever with this representing the values of the Pleasance. But it does suggest somewhat that offending an audience with highly sexualised audience participation acts is not the problem.

Whatever actually happened seems to be as clear as mud, but as a general rule comedians of any kind getting their cock out on stage is in the not OK category unless nudity is advised in advance. Also on the side of any staff if they hadn't been informed.

Informed isn't "it's X, what did you expect". Basic duty of care stuff from any employer.

So wish I could go to Elaine’s show! Would happily donate a pair of tickets if anyone interested but cash strapped?

My last experience of going to the Old Vic was disappointing from customer service side - got the vibe from several that they thought I should just be grateful for privilege of being there. Boycotting for their disgraceful cancellation of Terry Gilliam.
