Then when these spoilt middle-class children who have never wanted for anything in their lives threaten to quit, you can bring in your ‘reserve team’ of those who would be delighted to work with people like Jerry Sadowitz and Terry Gilliam.

I guarantee that if anyone complained about the nudity in Gray’s show, the only concrete result might be the complainant getting a visit from the police. A legendary comic like Sadowitz gets banned, but the new Sacred Class can do anything it fuckin’ wants, because theatre kids are now ordering the adults around.

Now, I’m hearing rumours that the great Elaine Miller is getting the treatment…the usual complaints coupled with some obnoxious behaviour. I know Gilded Balloon owner Karen Koren a little bit from meeting her back in the day with Dylan Moran. I was suprised that there are ‘gender neutral’ toilets in the Gilded Balloon, with all their attendant dangers to women, but I can’t imagine she would countenance this attempted silencing and harassment of a feminist.

Elaine is also part of a group of professionals working to provide better healthcare for trans-identified people. She understands what testosterone is doing to young women and at this historical moment, when the Tavistock is about to be sued by 1000 familes, business owners should be very careful about which voices they decide to prioritise, and which they try to silence.
