My question is this - how does the medical industry relate to the trans movement itself?
It seems too coincidental to be a case of the 'chicken or the egg'... it's too mutually beneficial to be chance.
Does anyone know how this came to be?
My hunch is that trans rights came out of the medical industry itself, i.e. what better way to make money than for Big Pharma and Friends to invent a supposedly grassroots movement pushing for children and young people to become transsexuals? Other things happen to align with their views or jobs so go along with it. Being inclusive and having diversity is good right? Except what do those mean now? I think many go along with feeling nice and cuddly and progressive and don't think much more than that. Dentons has been clever and building on justifiable feelings about intolerance of people who are gay (yet they've twisted and are more truly homophobic than many realise). Other things happen to align with their views or jobs so go along with it. Being inclusive and having diversity is good right? Except what do those mean now? Exploring what 'a diverse woman' (a man) means causes discomfort. Some may be promoted over others without specific intent, but pledging allegiance does get you promoted in some places, and the corollary, to ask questions gets you put in the 'anti' or 'right wing' or meany pile.
Governments are rewarded with funding and promises of jobs in poor places. We'll destroy your local economy is a nice threat. Again, too many aren't thinking very deeply about any of this, it brings money, it's 'nice' so what's the issue? And doctors are doing this, so we trust them, right? I'm not sure about it breaking, it might be a series of fevers. UK too :-)
