Thanks to the heroic JKR, Sharron Davies (her book is excellent and Baroness Nicholson for all they are doing to protect the rights of women and girls.

Thanks also to Graham, who is also fighting for us and is also heroic.

A whole heap of thanks JL.

re: this from Graham recently in T'Telegraph "“The young actors from the Harry Potter series of films instantly betrayed her,” Linehan said, adding: “Those actors deserve to be remembered as symbols of the most remarkable arrogance, cowardice and ingratitude.” ... reminded me of this cartoon: https://ibb.co/9V2PnJ9

Happier Day! Definite progress. News today that men will not be put into female only wards any longer. Of course this means that the hissy fit throwing woman face fetishists will get a private room, (we want more rights than everybody else, we’re special) but at least vulnerable women will be safer. Love the Potter cartoon (those young people are a disgrace) and the doggie with the kitten. Aw.

Fantastic news that JKR, Sharron Davies and our Glinner's books are driving up the charts! On the other hand, it's still so depressing that Cathy Boardman and Dr Kelvin, although they have both been exonerated after their trashing by their respective institutions, are still being told that it's because they are 'entitled to their 'gender critical' beliefs'. This insidious little phrase is being used as a way of suggesting that to know and to understand the reality of biological sex is a belief. It is not. It is a statement of fact that humans can't change sex. Even the phrase 'gender critical' is a nonsense. No one is criticising gender - what we are criticising is the very idea that taking cross sex hormones and wearing stereotypically 'feminine' clothing means anything other than simply being 'gender' neutral. Which has nothing to do with changing sex. Honestly the longer this goes on, the more I feel I'm living in some upside-down land out of Stranger Things...

Excellent post, Jane. People think that they're doing something special, according us 'rights of belief'. It's like saying that it's a protected right to believe that the sky is blue, or that the sun is hot. Absolute bollocks, and yes, it makes one feel like an alien in one's one environment.

Yes, isn't it ridiculous that people have to go through a court case to be told they may speak the truth. I hope we shall soon see a decline in these kinds of cases as employers begin to cotton on to the Forstater precedent. We have much to thank Maya and her tenacity for.

Expand full comment

Absolutely. I often wonder what my parents and grandparents (all gone, unfortunately) would say if they were able to come back to earth for a day and watch a distillation of print and TV news from the past three years: male rapists housed in women's prisons; two year-old children being brought up as 'non-binary'; a 'transgender woman' assaulting a woman with 'her penis'; and Eddie Izzard being referred to as 'she' in a major British newspaper. They would think that they had left their hopefully heavenly pastures and ended up in the very middle of hell.

Take your point, Jane but the Equality Act protects religion and belief so, even though we are talking about facts, we have to squeeze it into a belief. However the funny thing is that the TRAs can't then say ' no it's not a belief it's a fact' so they are a bit painted into a corner :)

The bad and the good all in one day. It's almost too much. The good news is fantastic. An especially loud shout out to the women of the angling team. That's what all women's teams should do, refuse to play if their team contains a man or if they are expected to compete against one that contains a man. Maybe more women's teams will have the courage to do so now.

Buoyed and encouraged by Glinner and Kellie-Jay, I decided during the first week of the university term to "be the billboard". I'd popped into NatWest to query a statement, only to see the whole branch festooned with 'Progress Pride' bunting. After waiting an age, I told the clerk serving me that I had two queries: my bank query, and a query about "those offensive flags" that the branch had seen fit to impose on us all. The clerk - a middle-aged woman, quite pleasant and accommodating - looked distinctly uncomfortable. "Oh," she said, "The bank supports every cause imaginable." I said, "So it's just meaningless virtue-signalling?" Her discomfort seemed to increase. "Actually," she said, "I just keep myself to myself and get on with my job." I told her that on one level I could empathise: no-one wants to be adversarial if one can help it. "But," I said, "You do realise, don't you, that if we don't do something about this situation, you as a woman will have to watch as you're basically erased as sex class." She said, "Yes, I know." Her eyes were sort of imploring me not to say any more than this, and besides a queue had formed behind me. So she attended to my query and I thanked her. But before leaving the bank, I used the ATM, which is just a few paces away from the clerks' counter. Taking my cash, I also surreptitiously affixed a sticker, "Transwomen are Men", which I'd acquired from Kelly Jay's store, to the side of the ATM, pressing it against the surface fast and hard so that it would be difficult to remove. The next day, I went round the rest of the banks in the city centre and did the same. Who knows how impactful this will be? I certainly don't. But it's the very least that I can do. I already drive friends and family spare with my pontifications on the gender cult, so on the level of talk talk, I think I'm okay. It's the practical side that needs attention, and so that's my current task: to sticker, sticker, sticker. Maybe someone, somewhere will realise that there's a backlash in progress. Maybe it will have some kind of effect. Heigh ho.

Hey the indomitable JL with a GNS, day is looking up!! 🌟

The artwork at the beginning is beautiful, love the colours. We'll done Julie Scott.

Good news abounds!

Conversion therapy legislation scrapped, excellent

The treatment by the British Army of Dr kelvin was a total disgrace, and does the exoneration help? Yes but imo it's too little too late, still a victory for a dedicated dr and soldier, trans ideology has no place in an army.

Good news for Cathy Boardman at last!

Well done to kentucky and the judge that refused to overturn the ban on drugging and mutilating kids, justice seen to be done!!

CIPS is good news but why oh why is this a continuing fight over every single sport? Its absolutely crazy, no man should ever be in women's sport no matter what he wears, what trashy make up and ratty wig, no matter what documents he has forged or what he calls himself . Did I detect a loop hole? Birth cert required if in doubt? What happens if they have bought one? This is why no state documents should ever be altered.

I have read the excellent "the running grave" and highly recommend it.

I plan to get Sharron Davie's book ASAP

Glinners is on order as soon as I heard about it..

I love golden retrievers, they are so horizontally laid back and the kitten is just so cute 😍

The other great thing about the really important Appeal Court judgment in America is that the case was brought by the utterly woo woo American Civil Liberties Union who got completely trashed. :)

Well done Cathy Boardman, Dr Kelvin and the English women anglers :)

Great news re the books. Bad luck, anti-women activists.

Loved the cat and dog.

Thanks again

Thank you. The good news supplement is always a boost. People kept in the dark about gender ideology (normies as Barry Wall would say) are wakening up. I was at a dinner on Saturday where someone had a go at J K Rowling. I defended her of course, and ask them to find one single transphobic quote from her. It was also an opportunity for me to take the floor and educate them on what has been happening in the name of gender ideology. I believe at the end of my long monologue (about 45 minutes!), four more people peaked. This is thanks to being well informed by Graham, Helen, Arty, Kellie-Jay, Barry, Helen Joyce, Hannah Barnes etc.
