I should hope that 'Stella' Moore has to play men's bowls! He has some nerve expecting to be able to play on the women's team just because he's put on some lippy and breast forms. I notice in the article "Stella" makes the point that bowls doesn't rely on physical strength etc so there's no reason why he shouldn't play with the ladies. Hasn't occurred to him that the ladies might just want a bit of space that's theirs alone, away from men, just for an hour.
My stepdad plays lawn bowls and yes, he plays mixed bowls sometimes - but I get the distinct impression that men and women both generally prefer to play with other people of the same sex for the majority of the time. As you point out, it's a sport which has a large social component. But as long as "Stella" is belatedly receiving all of the affirmation he desires, I guess...

Someone even faked your identity to buy four tickets! Our event had 60 fake ticket buyers and we had to reboot it.
