But beware that until the legislation which protects them has been repealed they still have power. The main laws are of course the GRA, and "gender reassignment" in the Equality Act 2010. After these changes GD sufferers will still be protected by "disability". Why has GD, of all mental illnesses, been selected for special protection? Many mental illnesses are intractable and cripple lives. GD is not significantly different from anorexia which is another strange belief about the "right" body.

Oh yeah, I totally understand this is far from over, but good news is always welcome.

Could you imagine if anorexia was affirmed. “Food is poison”. “Oh yes of course, you are right, never eat again.”

We must all affirm the skeletal girl starving herself, applaud her self-harm. She's living her truth! It's who she is.

Bruce Adamson has been in that role for 4 years- has he just noticed what's going on in our schools and clinics? It's welcome but the cynic in me thinks Nicola might have prompted an advisor to put their head above the parapet and give her a route out of this shit show she's got herself into. "I'm listening to the Children's Commissioner" sounds better than " I'm dropping this because it's damaging my career" . Let's hope so. Patrick and Lorna are on big bucks now whatever happens so they might be happy to drop their sex changes for children policies.

And to think Holyrood was going out of its way to make protesting a crime when they knew over 80% of Scotland utterly rejects GRA.
