A Week in the War on Women: Monday 20th September - Sunday 26th September GOOD NEWS SUPPLEMENT
Some of the good news from the gender beat.
Hold-Ups For SNP Gender Juggernaut
Bruce Adamson, the Children’s Commissioner in Scotland, has urged the SNP to shelve its proposed GRA reforms, stating that there isn’t enough evidence to support the planned legislation.
Adamson said that ‘more work’ was required before a bill could be brought to the Scottish Parliament, noting specifically that there is little research into the children who choose to ‘change gender’ then later detransition. He said that ‘appropriate protection and safeguards’ were required to protect the under-18s.
“We would welcome further consideration by the Scottish Government of research and evidence on consent, capacity, autonomy and protection.”
A news story over the weekend reported that teachers in Scotland are concerned about national guidance on supporting transgender pupils. They fear the guidelines put them at risk of legal action due to the exclusion of parents.
Leaders of the Scottish Secondary Teachers’ Association (SSTA) will debate an emergency motion at their upcoming Congress calling for the guidance to be withdrawn until a ‘clear legislative basis’ can be established.
Cherry On The Cake
Joanna Cherry was on her usual blistering form in Parliament this week, demanding to know what action the government intends to take to protect women from abuse and harassment when discussing our sex-based rights.
Home Office minister Rachel Maclean agreed with Joanna Cherry’s view and agreed to meet with her in order to discuss possible solutions.
Non, Merci
Psychologists, psychiatrists, doctors, and intellectuals in France have spoken out against the transing of children.
In an article published in L’Express newspaper, over 50 signatories voiced grave concerns about the influence of gender identity ideology on vulnerable children.
“We denounce this abduction of childhood. It is now urgent to inform the greatest number of citizens, of all professions, of all allegiances, of all ages, about what could be tomorrow one of the greatest health and ethical scandals that we could have watched happen without saying a word: the commodification of children’s bodies.”
Marion On Air
Marion Calder from For Women Scotland appeared on Andrew Doyle’s Free Speech Nation podcast.
What The Papers Say
Great coverage of the Women Talk Back legal action against Bristol SU in The Times this week.
“Our case could be the among the first brought by women who were directly prevented from or sanctioned for using the single-sex exemptions under the Equality Act 2010.”
Letters To The Editor
There were a number of letters to the editor in The Sunday Times, supporting Rosie Duffield and condemning the ‘Labour cowards’ who can’t stand up to trans extremism.
“Duffield’s senior Labour colleagues cannot expect to be taken seriously when they will not condemn extreme trans activists threatening women. They are not fit to represent my cat.”
Jennifer Ray, Morden, London
“I am a trans woman and I have no hesitation in condemning such appalling behaviour. The extremists do not speak for me, nor for many like me.”
Clare Fielding, London, EC2
“The views of transgender activists are at odds with biological facts… It would be entirely wrong to use this as a basis to deny women the right to female-only spaces, into which anatomical males are not allowed.”

Too funny not to share!
And Finally…
I really love the good news thread. It really is cathartic! 😌
Bruce Adamson has been in that role for 4 years- has he just noticed what's going on in our schools and clinics? It's welcome but the cynic in me thinks Nicola might have prompted an advisor to put their head above the parapet and give her a route out of this shit show she's got herself into. "I'm listening to the Children's Commissioner" sounds better than " I'm dropping this because it's damaging my career" . Let's hope so. Patrick and Lorna are on big bucks now whatever happens so they might be happy to drop their sex changes for children policies.
