“Beta male knicker-sniffer, Jonathan Yaniv” —that’s an absolutely bloody brilliant description 😂 Thank you JL for that and for all of this excellent news… The defence of sex-based language and never-ending string of 10* reviews for Gervil are very cheering and encouraging.

Thanks JL. Someone I know on FB (who thinks they are superior in intellect to everyone) posted the story about schools not having to accommodate children who say they are transgender and captioned it "This will literally cause lives to be lost". I snickered to myself because it was a line straight from the TRA playbook. Lierally? Really? Where's the proof? They are not the kind of person worth agruing with so I scrolled on. I did peak a lady while queuing at the pharmacy the other day though and pointed her here to find out more.

Excellent work on the peaking front! (And well done not wasting time and energy on idiots who won't listen. The 'Literally killing people' tone is usually a giveaway it's not worth the effort!) x

Yeah, the minute I see the word "literally" used in this way, I move on. No point banging your head against a brick wall.

“The overwhelming rejection of the plans from members of the public will make it impossible for the SNP/Green coalition to argue the legislation has popular support.”

Watch them do it anyway.

Sadly agree William.

Thank you for the good news. Much of it was known but it's lovely to see them all put together.

The Tories have been really great of late I have to say. Miriam Cates' speech is so utterly perfect.

Things are really changing in England certainly and my hope is that other European countries will start waking up to this danger.

JK Rowling's "unpopular" opinion.

Was it bad faith or are they so detached from the hoi polloi outside London they actually believe that crap?

Both options are eminently feasible going on past BBC form.

Thanks JL - very welcome news. That "almost 60%" of Scots voters would be even higher if a fraction of the stories that appear on this blog were reported by the Scottish media, but it's great news anyway. How the SNP & the Greens have been able to ignore reality for so long, I've no idea.

We're widely acknowledged to have one of the highest proportion of Gay people in any Parliament yet seem unaware of the effect of 'same gender' nonsense instead of same sex attracted.

It's astonishing that they don't see it.

Or pretend not to..?

That's the thing, on one hand we've Malcolm Clarke on the other Patrick Harvey, both gay men but only one is a misogynist.

It is welcome news, and you're right, the percentage would be higher, probably significantly higher if they were aware of the full implications of self ID.

Confession: the photos of Mary Anning were taken by me...I'm so pleased to see them in your update JL. There was lots of women admiring the statue when I was there. Never underestimate the impact statues of women have on other women. It was glorious, and also shows how utterly dire the Mary Wollstonecraft statue is. That could have been equally glorious. Instead it's an embarrassment.

Oh huge congrats! Those photographs are wonderful! Glad you don't mind me pinching them for the header. Great to hear Mary was much admired. So important to see our heroines and feminist foremothers represented. (And I agree wholeheartedly about the Mary Wollstonecraft statue - it's a bloody disgrace. I live nearby and have to turn my face away when I pass it on the bus.)

Not at all, post them far and wide! There will be more photos of Mary in the future......

Can’t believe actually that 60% of my fellow Scot’s actually stood up to this give we are told little or nothing about it unless we dig deeper than the pathetic msm

Was never a huge fan of Gervais until ‘After Life’ , going to have to subscribe to Netflix again to watch this

Good news re: the percentage of submissions against sex self-ID in Scotland. I wonder if the SNP will take notice? Sadly, the govt here in NZ was so hellbent on pushing it through that the fact there was a majority against it made no difference. They pushed it through, anyway, and brushed off the number of submissions against it as being normal for anything that’s different to what we’re used to, and that people will get used to it after a while. Our lobbying against it did get a clause added which said single-sex spaces could still be provided, and that a birth certificate wasn’t necessarily evidence of a person’s sex; and that there would be a statutory review of the law five years after its’ implementation. Small concessions, but we wouldn’t have got them without lobbying, nor a chance to make written and oral submissions, sham that it was.

I ❤️ Ricky Gervais.

“Of the 10,800 submissions responses submitted, 59 per cent opposed the reforms.”

Let’s not forget that Nicola (“my pronouns are she and her”) Sturgeon ignores democratic decisions and presses on regardless removing woman’s rights to single-sex spaces.
