Women are clapping back and it's loud and unequivocal. They can't stop us. The PM is on board, say what you like about him or the Tories, I know where I put all my X's on my ballot sheets for the election later this week. This is an existential fight, not only for women and children, but for humanity and society. Good in Martina putting the toddler in his place, and Riley Gaines, the very best of luck to her. Things are hotting up on both sides of the pond. I do feel a sense of joy and a change in the air. Thank you for all the excellent news. Shame about the Edinburgh Fringe deplatforming people, though. They're a lost cause.

I'm not a huge fan of the Tories, but I believe that they are the port that we need in this particular storm. I'm not a fan of the Express, either, but their cover story is to be celebrated, and better than a slap in the face with a wet kipper. I believe that there are indications that the tide is slowly turning. And for this we have stalwarts like Kellie-Jay, Maya, the Helens, Kathleen and a whole host of truly stunning and brave women to thank. And of course there are the equally brave men who are fighting for this cause, not least our own powerhouse, Glinner. It is not easy to speak truth when everyone has the fingers of prejudice and bias rammed in their ears. However, some ears are thankfully bigger, and thus not quite so conducive to being stuffed. I really think that the message is reaching those ears, and that consequently the cause, the campaign, the war and the battles that comprise it are slowly changing their complexion. It's a long, hard path, but there are champions striding along it, and so long as resolve is maintained and grit is constantly refreshed, the win is inevitable. It's inevitable because truth is sacrosanct, and always wins out. With the truth on our side, we will - to ape KJK - never lose. We have to remember that.

JL, you are also up there among that pantheon of heroes and heroines! If I'd mentioned everyone whose names are circulating in my head, I'd never have finished the post!

the position held by trans rights activists is just completely farcical. The only thing left to say is that they are complete nobheads.

I don’t know about anyone else but I found that podcast unbearably irritating. I thought Graham did really well to keep putting the arguments in the face of constant and ludicrously trivial interruptions. It was as if the interviewer was desperate to find anything to cause Graham to trip up and falter. I’ve heard many interviews where the opposing side is put, whilst allowing the interviewee to speak plainly and clearly. I felt quite stressed listening, I think Graham would have needed a stiff drink afterwards.

But what a selection of good news stories, very heartening. Thanks JL. Go get him Riley!

Yes the presenter was rude and tedious. His constant interruptions were enraging! But, as you say, Graham did a brilliant job of standing his ground and making his point.

I have come to have so much respect for interviewees who just stand their ground and keep talking despite some knucklehead trying to interrupt their thought and speech processes. I believe this is a technique taught in "communications" / "journalism" school that needs to be challenged.

Yes, I do too. It's a very powerful play of dominance. It's what bullies and abusers do too, so you can hardly catch your breath, hardly get to the end of a thought or sentence, so get thoroughly flummoxed and disoriented. So many people do this and it's easy to be misdirected by it. Many people struggle with actively listening, only waiting to jump in with their pre-prepared thought they racked up waiting for you to finish, then even that's too much, so you're cut off, spoken over and hurried. I tried to clarify what someone had just said in a conversation in the past few days and they refused to admit or 'go over' what they'd said literally seconds previously, then denied the particular form of words they chose apparently without thinking. It's very common gaslighting.

I really struggle to listen to the interviewer Sarah Smith now after she tried this tactic on Graham on Newsnight, using all the tools she could to throw him off base.

I found it really annoying too. Found myself shouting at the interrupting interviewer at one point!

Great news that For Women Scotland are appealing the Lady Haldane judgment! I have donated and would encourage others to do so if they can. The judgment causes immense problems. Will cross post later thanks again Dusty

Thanks JL - these stories are breath of fresh air.

Labour seem sure they're about to wipe out the Tories and while it seems likely they'll win, I'm not convinced it'll be the landslide they're expecting. I think they're wildly under-estimating (or just ignoring) the level of anger out there at their disregard for women's rights and children's safeguarding. Opposing gender ideology is about defending a fundamental democratic principle and for plenty of us it's the biggest issue on the table right now and more important than any regular political loyalties.

If Sunak wanted to take another open goal, he could tell voters he'll kick gender ideology out of their kid's schools. I don't think you'd need a Political Science Think Tank to tell you that most parents don't actually want their kids being taught that they might have been born with the wrong genitals.

Well done Rishi Sunak!

Some great stuff from the US! As the rest of the Anglophone and Western world follow them, this is heartening.

Graham was brilliant on Here's How Podcast. Just listened to the whole thing. It was actually good to have such an oppositional interviewer because Graham could shoot down so many false narratives put forward by TRAs which the interviewer was aping. Must have been exhausting though.

Bravo!!

Graham, I have so much respect for you in the way you handled the interview on the Here is How podcast. The interviewer continually switched his line of argument, interrupted, patronised and at times seemed to pretend to be stupid for strategic reasons. You stayed level, pleasant, clear and courageous throughout. Thank you.
