I kind of feel bad for the feminists who tweeted images of their cut-up Labour party cards and new Tory membership cards, only to realise they're just as steeped in it, with trans activist MPs like Penny Mordaunt, Alicia Kearns and Crispin Blunt [who, when closeted in the 90s, argued against equal rights for gays, citing child safeguarding reasons] all pro-self-ID. Now that lump Johnson has got this Lord Herbert in, to trans-up Parliament. That's all well and good as long as they're not on all-women shortlists, but at the same time, it's such a yawnfest to have yet another person at the top, trying to create positions of power for gender-cultists. There really is nothing to vote for.

Even the TRG (moderate "left" Tories) say they believe in self-ID and claim the idea women won't have single-sex spaces is a myth because "for over a decade, trans women have already been using bathrooms and female changing rooms, enshrined in the Equality Act" Um no, GRC is not the same as self-ID.

Emma Corrin is very immature for a 25-year-old. A grown adult who thinks androgynous fashion is a magical groundbreaking thing that totally hasn't been done by more talented people than her, years before her birth...I predicted it before she became a they-person because she has one of the few stereotype pronoun twat haircuts. They is a pretentious cliche clone now. I hope she has fun with her classic non-binary dented ribcage and special they/them unicorn shallow breathing. Being a they-individual will protect you from rape, sexual assault, needing hormonal contraceptives, period pain and being pregnant right? You can identify out of all of these things if you have a certain haircut and call yourself they right??? RIGHT?

I have to assume political parties are being advised by those who follow social media and take it as a reflection of public opinion. I absolutely believe trans people should be able to represent a party or constituents just as anyone else can who's eligible. I really hope they're not going to follow the Green Party's direction though and have TIMs holding positions reserved for women.

Oh, the Owen Jones tweet. 😆 It's difficult to know what month/week/season ISN'T all about trans people these day. FFS. Can I speak about women's rights and the threat to single sex spaces on, hmm, let's saaaaayyyyy Oct 3rd? Is that day free from special pride/history/remembrance celebration of zero people murdered for being trans? No? How about 2022? Anything open there?

That "chest feeding" picture. Are doctors actually telling women they can still feed an infant naturally after a double mastectomy? I thought chest feeding was just a different name for trans or NB women who feed their baby from the breast. 🤷 Please tell me this was a young girl who believed this, I just cannot imagine an adult thinking you could amputate a body part and still assume it will function. 😐

Yes, heartbreaking that women are doing this period, but what???

The photograph at the end of Emma Corrin item is of a young woman destransitioner who bravely shared the picture of herself (now with a baby which she has to bottle feed) to demonstrate the damage caused by rushing impressionable teenagers into surgery and hormones etc. I just wanted to try and demonstrate the harm of glamorising chest binding to young girls and teaching them to hate their body.

As for the whole chest-feeding nonsense, it makes no sense to me. I *think* we're supposed to use the term to be more inclusive blah blah blah but, obviously, breastfeeding requires breasts. Real ones. And I guess it really isn't something that even crosses the mind of the poor kids lining up for double mastectomies before they're even old enough to be buying a bra... Tragic, isn't it, Loretta? I'm as baffled and sad as you are.

In the US, they are told that the studies being run around giving hormones to men so they produce "milk" could help after they have double mastectomies if they keep their nipples.

These lies have to stop and be called out. A friend is trying that just now by taking her daughter's paediatrian and psychologist to court for telling her daughter who is 14 that she needs to have the mastectomies now before her breast material grows. She has been told that she will be able to take hormones and she will still produce milk for any children she might want. The daughter has also been told to get pregnant as quickly as possible if she wants children so it doesn't get in the way of her full transition. She is 14...

Her mum is fighting back. Her father is on antidepressants and wants to do in both doctors.

Somebody secretly filmed a doctor talking about surgery. In it if I remember correctly the doctor said if people change their minds they can have implants. Breastfeeding is an individual choice, but most young women are not thinking about it, and certainly wouldn’t be aware that you can’t breastfeed with fake boobs.

Johanna Olson-Kennedy. The same woman who thinks babies show their "gender" by unsnapping onesies to make a "dress".

I love what Germaine Greer wrote about implants. Surgeons aka Sweeney Todd take a healthy, warm, soft, functioning body part and replace it with something plastic, cold, and hard. That's U.S. society in a nutshell.

That is sick and disgusting.

This article seems to imply that trans women are calling breastfeeding hotlines asking to be indulged that they can "chest feed"

That's quite a separate issue from biological women not being able to breastfeed. Delusional men on hormones aren't women. Ridiculous that a health agency would be expected to indulge such idiocy and narcissism. If a man wants to feed a baby, there isn't much "technique" to bottle feeding.

I would have genuine concerns for any infant being fed hormone-laden breastmilk or a guy using some prosthetic breast contraption.

I really really struggle to get my head around women who want to identify out of womanhood so badly they get their breasts removed but then decide to have a baby. Obviously not every woman has or wants to have or can have a baby, but to me it's so intrinsically a female thing. And it's bizarre that I've even had to type that. But here we are, defending womanhood and motherhood from morons.

I'm exactly the same. Cannot understand it. Like Freddie McConnell hell bent on being described as her child's father. If you don't want to be a mother, don't have a bloody baby.

Expand full comment

I've never understood this either. Women are expected to be maternal and socialised that way with baby dolls, and all my life I've been resisting expectations. The thought of having a baby and being a mum is unpalatable to me, so how do supposedly dysphoric people actually want to do the most female thing you can do?

Reading Milli Hill's blog breaks my heart. People just go out of their way to act like childish bullies. How dare a birth campaigner recognise women as being central to her work. Shame on BirthRights, an organisation I previously had respect for. So many of the negative social media posts from people attacking her read as if they come from a place of profound jealousy. Makes me so angry

There’s nothing more annoying than a round of “what’s your name and pronouns?” Especially good the 99% of the time that everyone asks for the same he or she you would have guessed. Such a great use of everyone’s time. Of course respecting people’s time is not the point: the point is to require participation in an oath of fealty to the idea that one is entitled to demand that others use your chosen pronouns rather than those they observe to be appropriate, and that any mistakes in doing so are akin to physical violence.

Gah! I cannot get past the TIM fantasy tv show of the ginormous man named “Sally” beaten by violent imaginary “GC” gals in a WOMEN’S PRISON. For us USA folks, can you kindly let us know what date & time that episode aired and on which channel? (Channel 4?) The complaint form is detailed & demanding. Thanks so much 😊

I watched the 'Sally' clip with the sound muted - it was hilarious seeing that huge man in a bad wig crying 'cos the nasty TERFS had broken his arm. It was almost like pantomime. Are people so stupid to be convinced by that? I know it's Hollyoaks but come on!

Only the Tories could look at the current landscape of LGBT activism and decide that the best person to work with the Women and Equalities Minister is a very posh gay man who is a literal lord. I'm sure his heart is just overflowing with empathetic solidarity for poverty striken imprisoned women getting perved on by trans identified men and their her-penises. Liz Truss has got her work cut out for her.

San Francisco used to project its image as the City of Love. No more. Yet another man taking the side of the biological men who think they can change their sex and telling everyone else that preferred pronouns need to be used. Why? I keep saying it, what does it matter what someone else calls you in a conversation you will probably not be taking part in or even knowing about.

If you are part of a conversation, your name will be used more often than not and pronouns will not be used.

If you think pronounced pronouns will change the world, you are wrong. And a heck of a lot of people from the general population will have to be taken to court for "misgendering". Because why? They simply do not give a toss about pronouns or even what you might think your gender is. They call it as they see it.

Hi, Tim, I am so embarrassed. It's Deborrah Cooper and here is a link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StKj5CAa3fA

She mostly offers dating advice to women, primarily women of color, but she is heaps of fun to listen to. (I wish I had had some of this advice when I was young!) Lots of cussing, lots of straightforward talk. One of my favorites is what she had to say about being transphobic (I'm paraphasing): Yes, I'm transphobic, I'm also broke-phobic, baby daddy-phobic, short-phobic.
