Monday 13th September - Having Your Cake & Eating It BBC NEWS: A trans-identified female has complained there was confusion over her NHS cervical screening test because she’s registered as male on her medical records. 29-year-old Jamie transitioned over a decade ago but ‘opted to retain his cervix’, as the BBC so delicately puts it. After her routine cervical screening test brought back an abnormal result, she was referred for a hospital appointment which, she claims, was delayed for three months because of ‘confusion’ over her ‘gender’.
