BBC NEWS: A trans-identified female has complained there was confusion over her NHS cervical screening test because she’s registered as male on her medical records.
29-year-old Jamie transitioned over a decade ago but ‘opted to retain his cervix’, as the BBC so delicately puts it. After her routine cervical screening test brought back an abnormal result, she was referred for a hospital appointment which, she claims, was delayed for three months because of ‘confusion’ over her ‘gender’.
Jamie told the BBC that the hospital didn’t read or comprehend the explanatory note accompanying her referral. She claims "It had to go through multiple managers to accept and understand it". (How she has knowledge of conversations and procedures within the NHS to which she was not party isn’t known.)
Women aged over 25 are automatically issued with a reminder to book a cervical smear test. According to NHS guidance, a trans-identified female may not receive this reminder if they’ve chosen to alter their medical records to list themselves as male. It is then up to the individual to arrange an appointment.
Jamie said she wants the NHS to send screening invitations to all ‘transgender and non-binary people who have a cervix who require a test’ (ie women).
Well, there’s an easy way to ensure that happens; record that female people are female on their medical records. Problem solved.
Tuesday 14th September - The Jesuits Had A Phrase For This
SKY NEWS AUSTRALIA: The parents of a trans-identified teenager who was forcibly removed from their care are taking legal action.
Two years ago a 15-year-old girl was removed from her parent’s care by authorities in Western Australia because they would not consent to testosterone treatment for her.
The teenager felt isolated following the family’s move to Australia, lacked friends, had issues with food and body image and suffered with depression. As a result, her parents sought the help of an independent psychologist to examine the underlying causes of her gender dysphoria and explore non-invasive treatment options.
The couple say that, without any prior notice or warning, law enforcement officers arrived at their home and took the child into custody. It later transpired that the girl had been in online groups, complaining that her parents would not consent to hormone treatment and threatening suicide.
She was then removed from her parents’ care with authorities claiming that, by not affirming her gender, her parents were guilty of mental abuse.
The parents are now challenging the removal of their daughter in the Supreme Court. They seek a ‘clear ruling’ that parents who exercise caution in the case of a dysphoric child will not be considered abusive or risk having their child removed.
A judgement is expected at the end of the month.
Meanwhile, it is worth bearing in mind that, since this couple’s child was removed from their care, the Perth Children’s Hospital Gender Clinic has been placed under review. In what was described by Bernard Lane in The Australian as a ‘dramatic change’, patients now require court approval before they can be administered with hormone treatment.
Wednesday 15th September - Women Don’t Matter
MPR NEWS: A judge is happy to recommend that a dangerous male terrorist serves his 53-year sentence in a female prison.
Last month we reported on Michael Hari, the militia leader who orchestrated the bombing of a mosque in Minnesota in 2017.
In December Hari he was found guilty of five civil rights and hate crime charges. Hari now claims to be transgender and is calling himself Emily Claire. He’s claimed it was suffering from gender dysphoria which lead him to put a pipe bomb through a mosque window. His lawyer even tried to use this to argue for a shorter sentence.
Hari was sentenced this week to 53 years in prison. In passing sentence, the judge said he was prepared to recommend that Hari serve his time in the female estate.
There was another news story on a similar theme from the US this week; a registered sex offender is seeking a transfer to the female estate claiming to be transgender.
William Michael Inscoe is an ‘habitual offender’ with a very long record. His offences include hit and run, larceny, breaking and entering, contributing to the delinquency of a child and possession of a firearm by a felon. He’s also a registered sex offender having been found guilty of ‘taking indecent liberties’ with a 13 year old girl.
He now claims to be transgender and to have a DSD condition and is seeking a move from the North Carolina men's penitentiary to a women’s facility.
His lawyers have written to the North Carolina Department of Corrections. They argue that Inscoe's eigth-amendment rights are being violated by his not being accommodated him in a female prison.
Thursday 16th September - Mridul Must Go
THE TIMES: Mridul Wadhwa has accused women defending their sex-based rights of fascism, racism and wanting to ‘eliminate trans people’.
We have written previously about Mridul Wadhwa, the trans-identified male CEO of Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre who concealed his sex to get a job in the women’s sector. He campaigns against the single-sex provisions allowed for in the Equality Act 2010 and, coincidentally, his partner’s company, hoovered up some lucrative contracts when women-only services were defunded for maintaining a female-only policy.
A few months ago, Wadhwa appeared on The Guilty “Feminist” Podcast and denied that women who’ve suffered male sexual violence need female-only spaces. “Sexual violence happens to bigoted people as well… If you bring unacceptable beliefs that are discriminatory in nature, we will begin to work with you on your journey of recovery from trauma. But please also expect to be challenged on your prejudices… You have to reframe your trauma.”
This week he’s in the news again for slurring the feminists who campaign for women-only spaces by describing them as fascists.
Speaking during a webinar organised by an LGBT rights charity, he referenced the recent demonstration at Holyrood which was organised by feminists to protest proposed GRA reforms. “More and more of them . . . [are] exposing themselves as being on the right and being very comfortable associating with fascists and those who would want to eliminate anybody who is not cisgendered and white in our society”.
Wadhwa freely admits he concealed his sex to secure a role designated female-only, his approach to rape survivors is appallingly callous, his contempt for women and women’s rights is obvious and now he’s slandering feminists with outrageous slurs.
How is he still in this job?
Friday 17th September - Just Admit You Hate Women
BBC Radio 4’s Today programme reported on a police watchdog directive that tackling violence against women needs to be as much of a priority as countering terrorism.
A report, commissioned by Home Secretary', Priti Patel, demands a ‘radical shift’ in the prioritising of crimes against women.
Zoe Billingham, HM Inspector of Constabulary, Zoe Billingham, described the ‘epidemic of violence’ against women and girls’ and condemned the failings of police forces to prioritise and deal with it.
According to official statistics, in England and Wales in the year to March 2020 an estimated 1.6 million women were victims of domestic abuse, 618,000 women were victims of sexual assault and 892,000 women were victims of stalking.
Liberal Democrat leader, Ed Davey appeared on the same programme. Even in the wake of this report and the statistics demonstrating the epidemic of violence against women and girls, he denied the need for female only areas and insisted that trans-identified males should have full access to all of women’s spaces.
Programme host, Justin Webb, asked Davey if there should be any spaces in society to which biological males should not have access. Davey replied, “No”.
Not the first time he’s made clear that he couldn’t give a toss about women’s dignity, privacy and safety.
Appearing on the Andrew Marr programme on Sunday, Davey doubled down on his position. He continues to insist that ‘transwomen are women’ and seeks to redefine the word ‘woman’ because ‘adult human female’ excludes males.
Saturday 18th December - Dirty Tricks Done Dirt Cheap
THE TELEGRAPH: Joanna Cherry believes her days as an SNP MP will soon be over due to her defence of women’s sex-based rights.
Cherry suspects that she will soon be ousted from parliament after being targeted with ‘abuse, threats and smears’ from within the SNP because of her stance on gender identity ideology and her opposition to GRA reform. She believes she may be blocked from standing at the next election.
Also Today - Labour Losing Women
THE TIMES: Janice Turner described Keir Starmer’s woeful lack of support for his female MPs and his abandonment of Labour’s women members.
This week Labour MP, Marsha de Codova, resigned from her role as shadow women and equalities minister. While in the job she was vilified for meeting with the feminists who founded Labour Women’s Declaration on sex-based rights and for declining an invitation to address Stonewall’s conference fringe meeting. Reportedly, she felt ‘cut adrift’ by party leader, Keir Starmer.
Similarly, Starmer has failed to speak out against the bullying, threats and abuse that Rosie Duffield has suffered. Concern for her safety is now so great that she cannot attend the Labour Party conference. And still Starmer refuses to defend her or offer to provide her with security. This is a woman who has survived domestic abuse.
Sunday 19th September - Women Talk Back In Court
Today’s item was meant to feature an article from a major Sunday newspaper about a legal action to defend women’s sex-based rights. Unfortunately, the newspaper pulled the article at the last minute.
Women Talk Back! is a student feminist society. One of its aims was to hold women-only consciousness-raising meetings, providing a vital space in which women could meet and discuss all aspects of the female experience. Most meetings involved discussions of and sharing experiences around male violence, so it was vital that attendees could be assured privacy and safety.
Consequently, when the group was affiliated with the Bristol Student Union in 2018, group organisers consulted with discrimination lawyers to facilitate it being single-sex under the exceptions allowed for in the Equality Act 2010.
On 1st March 2020, Women Talk Back! held a meeting called ‘Boundaries and Feminism’. A couple of trans activists, including one trans-identified male, demanded access. The society leaders recognised these trans activists from their previous targeting of other events and other feminist societies.
The president of the society, Raquel Rosario Sánchez, explained that the meetings was female-only. However, the male refused to leave and caused a 45 minute stand-off during which he tried to intimidate the women present.
He subsequently reported the group to Bristol Student Union claiming he’d suffered ‘extremely harmful psychological injury’. As a result of the ensuing ‘investigation’ Bristol SU made the following orders to Women Talk Back!:
Mandatory diversity training.
The group’s president must stepdown from her role and cannot run as a committee member on any other society’s committee for two years.
The group is not permitted to be female-only and must make clear on social media, their own website and the SU website that it is ‘open to everyone’.
Women Talk Back! are now bringing legal action against Bristol Student Union in order to defend women's boundaries, rights and spaces.
If you are able to, please support these brave young feminists in their action. You can find more details about the case and donate to their fund-raising page here.
“Women should not have to plead and beg for permission in order to use the rights we already have. Women shouldn't have to justify over and over again why we want to be among ourselves to discuss our own lives.”
See you next week.
William Michael Inscoe: "Waaaah! I don't feel safe with the menz!"
North Carolina BOP: "Fuck your pronouns!"
So many scams, so little time.
I agree with these biological males. They aren’t real men by any same definition.
