In California I'd like to see an enormous backlash directed at Scott Wiener. He's been blackmailing people for years, screaming homophobe and transphobe, if they don't go along with his grotesque misogyny. I've seen it before: people will go along with someone such as Wiener through fear and then turn on their blackmailer with unrestrained viciousness.
Heβs cartoonishly evil, and very powerful. Abigail Shrierβs article on him said heβs reported to not want to run for US Senator because heβd never be as powerful at the federal level as he is in CA. On the other hand, even I, in the Midwest, know all about him now. I think his days of getting away with everything are going to end.
Great stuff, JL, particularly Boyneβs apology to Graham. As the horrors of trans ideology are revealed more and more, people are wakening up to its dangers.
Thanks as ever, JL. That made the queue from hell at departures at Brum Airport a bit more bearable π Iβm beginning to hallucinate a pint of Guinness π weβll done Senator Craughwell
Glinner and Menno are going π donβt know if Dennis will be there. My wifeβs niece and friend are coming. Hope my reader Liza R will be there π
Finally got a Guinness! Forgot to put the toothpaste in the liquids bag! I told the bloke my toothpaste identifies as a solid. He didnβt get it. Thanks again JL
Lots of strides forwards. That senator in Ireland is on fire and I'm sure his vigour and unremitting efforts in speaking out on this will start turning things in Ireland. I'm so glad that people in California are beginning to push back as that state is diabolical in what it's trying to do to parents.
A shot of happy thanks JL, and we got GLβs book to look forwards too. in a year from now just think where we will be. And warming to see such a group coming together. Maybe there will be a bit more love between them as they focus on something that actually matters.
I actually do live in fear just now , Iβm in a small town in fife , weβve always had problems with drugs etc , doesnβt everywhere , but weβve had massive increases in shoplifting , housebreakings ,assaults , especially against women and children ,and Iβm going to be very very racist which I hate being , but itβs since weβve been dumped with so many immigrants
Iβll help anyone out to the best of my ability , but Iβm fucked if Iβm going to be scared in my own home
Iβm with you Petal. Iβm scared all of the time. Live in fear. For me and my dearest, and most of all for my grandchildren. Itβs not racist to acknowledge that bringing people from a different culture into any community, without structure, with no demand for them to adapt, with the possibly of a history of violence, (not necessarily their fault) and giving them some money but nothing to do will cause problems. Itβs not racist. Itβs a simple statement of fact.
My cat sends a huuuuge 'thanks' JL. That because this roundup has put me in such a good mood that he got extra games out in the garden (current favourite plaything is a branch of privet). I was feeling so upbeat I wanted to spread the happy!
I'm feeling even happier having seen that Tough Crowd is now at no. 3 in the Amazon bestsellers list and Roisin Murphy is at no. 2 in the album charts.
This TERFing is getting expensive this week as I've also bought Simon Edge's In The Beginning and pre-ordered the new Robert Galbraith! It's going to be baked beans on toast for the rest of the month. Especially if Rob is still going to get his favourite chicken!
The authorβs apology and the Irish senatorβs change of heart signal the tip of the iceberg, and these are the type of people who are to be congratulated (or at least welcomed) for their critical thinking and humility.
At the bottom of the iceberg are all those who are too weak to admit a mistake and do the right thing. I look forward to more tip-of-the-iceberg admissions, as they will expose those who remain silent.
GL- you are a hero to many of us βacross the pondβ.
Thank you JL, lots to feel encouraged by. And it's nice to see John Boyne issue an apology to Graham, expressing his regret that he, like virtually every other person in a position to support him, didn't. Obviously, I hope this has plrepared the ground for others to do likewise, and I hope they will find their conscience and go ahead.
Congrats to Sybil Ruth and Hannah Barnes.
Fantastic news from California.
Absolutely amazing from Gerard Caughwell.
And totally wonderful to see the Daily Mail call Graham an anti gender ideology campaigner.
Thanks JL for a π moment amongst all the gloom.

I'll have to look up that article, and it's fascinating that many of us outside of California know exactly who and what he is.

Thank you, Elizabeth!

You were flying from London to Scotland and you were the only white woman on the plane?

Reading Mr Boyne's apology was just heartwarming π And the trans kids book sounds like such a important one! Plus, Hannah Barnes is a star.
