Phew! Although aware of a lot of the above, I just like seeing a 'good news supplement'. The headline alone cheers me up.

Janice Turner is, as always, brilliant and I'm pleased to say, she is very popular at The Times if the comments on her columns are anything to go by. Her contributions alone justify my subscription.

Great about coach Seth Huston. Let's hope more professionals follow.

Protesters in the UK, I salute you for your bravery and stamina in going out in the freezing cold to stand up for all of us ultimately.

These keep getting better and better! New edition of Private Eye reports Ladies and Lords "furious" at gender extremist BS: https://ibb.co/MgdsWDb

Thanks so much for your kind words, SMF. So good to see the Lords standing up to the TRA bullies. According to Anya, no warning letters were sent - just correspondence to say that complaints had been made but it was decided that no action was needed. So it looks like the Lords standards commissioners are sick of the BS too. Even better news! x

Truly absurd. Glad you highlighted this .

Yes, I wonder if Paddick and a few others got warning letters during recent debates. If not that's a bit strange and partisan. Being upset is now an offense offence. Mind you, looking at the very broad definitions of hate crime non crimes non speech causing someone some very mild cognitive dissonance by being in the vicinity of someone or a sticker stating domestic abuse stats seems an utterly appalling criminal act to some.

According to The Times no warning letters were sent as reported in PE, just correspondence to say that complaints had been made but it was decided that no action was needed. So it looks like the Lords standards commissioners aren't having the TRA nonsense!

Thank you so much for the good news and the kitty video! Very cute!

(And Lia Thomas is about as trans as I am, in other words, not at all.)

There was a cartoon in the New Yorker years ago: The Museum of Cat Videos. I'd go there!

Smashing, thank you.

I can't help but wonder though ... India Willoughby is deffo a biological woman (2nd Feb) but Caitlyn Jenner knows he is a biological male (25th Jan). 🤔

Yes, I think Bruce knows what's what. India gets more delusional (and vitriolic) every day.

This week’s mainstream ‘Left’ media in Australia are doing a catch up with two significant feature articles published. The one from the Sydney Morning Herald criticising inclusive language has had over 500 Comments from subscribers and nearly every one appalled by this trend. The Age piece is mixed, but walks into the minefield of virtue signalling s asnd does so reasonably well, imho. Both are written by well known and respected journalists.

I'm a little concerned, well - a lot concerned really - that when Bruce says we can't have biological males competing with females in sports does he really mean it or is this TWAW gaslighting bullshit?

Expand full comment

To be fair to Bruce, I do think he's genuine about this. He's spoken out a few times about trans-identified males in women's sports. I wouldn't get in a car with him, but I don't think he has an agenda here. (Might be different if he was still competing...)

Can anyone tell me interesting details about the members of the new advisory board of Sex-Matters.org? I only know what I read on their website.

I have seen Tweets from Levi Pay: he is interested in poor quality of psychiatry. In particular the lack of proper theoretical, testable models, and he observes that "symptoms" become a "diagnosis". He is right. And this is a really important observation from someone outside the psychiatric profession. I can corroborate it: the ex-Medical Director for Mental Health Services for NW London said to me 14 years ago: "Psychiatry is in the stone age in comparison with physical medicine".

We know that "gender" was the invention of Dr John Money, Mr Alfred Kinsey and Mr Harry Benjamin, and was needed to justify administering oestrogen to men, but has no independent experimental evidence to support it. To debunk "gender" it is necessary to get some psychiatrists to break ranks, like Dr Lucy Griffin in Bristol. And of course the psychotherapist Stella O'Malley. But we need more and more of them.

Thanks Una-Jane - that ex-Medical Director is spot on and yes we do. I know of some academic papers and attitudes to improving care and recovery back in the days of 'lunatic asylums'. Still not implemented.

Liberty and Stonewall are not fit for purpose, think the EHRC.
