Women shouldn't have to justify why they don't want men in their spaces.

Right. Why is the bar set so low for women's wishes? They don't want men in their spaces because they don't want to be assaulted or insulted. That's the usual given reason, and one understood by most. But, how about they want a women-only sanctuary because it's women-only? Period. No debate.

It's been a long time since I've seen 'no debate' used appropriately!

haha, yes. Thought I'd take it back.

All he had to do was to ask the guy to stop or have him removed by security.

Was he enjoying a show all of his own?

Indeed.

No decent man or indeed, decent woman who sees an assault taking place would do nothing to help - I am disgusted by Izzard & v sorry you had to endure such an upsetting & public violation - furthermore, the women who enabled Izzard to trespass in the women's toilets at the event in Sheffield, as shown in the photo, are colluding with Izzard - a heady mix of treachery, enabling & bystanding .

I don't know if you've heard of this, but women are apparently regularly assaulted on planes and no one does anything.

I'm so sorry and very angry that you endured a sexual assault that could have been stopped. The man had already attracted Izzard's attention, he could see what was happening, he was witnessing a crime and could have reacted very differently to a woman's boundaries being violated. But Izzard doesn't give two fucks about women's boundaries either.

He is aware people know who he is and what he is, including women in public lavatories. He knows he doesn't belong there and he doesn't want to, he's there because he can be. Maybe he enjoys or gets off on women's discomfort and resentment as they stare at the walls or the floor.

Unless they're prepared to attract attention, perhaps from the police too, they're not going to do anything about it. Izzard is going to be in women's spaces whenever he wants. He's a woman, at least for the moment, he's said so. Only a transphobic, right wing bigot would say otherwise.

I thought that dear Edwina had form with being in women's spaces himself? He talks about how he was upset by going into a women's loo for some reason or other (don't want to dwell on that) and the girls, and they were girls, being rude to him. Didn't stop to think that firstly, he shouldn't have been in there at all, and, secondly, he must have frightened the pants of the girls already in there.

I used to be a fan and thought he was an amazing comedian, but not anymore. Interestingly, as the 'I am a woman' thing has moved to the fore, his comedy has been going down the toilet. Is there a connection I wonder?

Saw Eddie playing Lenny Bruce in late 90’s, during the performance Eddie was naked. Not a pleasant sight at all. Mos Def male! My Mum and I used to think he was admirable, now he’s just a pathetic little liar. An egotestical, career chasing MANipulator.

Jean Hatchett took the photo, she was with Julie Bindel at the time. He was being protected/shielded by two women who fawning all over him, apparently 🤡🤡

I'm so sorry you had to endure this assault on your person while a man stood on stage and did nothing. He had the power to have the pervert removed but chose to do nothing. He is a disgrace.

Is it now, or has it always been, a case of Izzard the Lizard? 😠

Thanks for sharing with us. Dreadful. So many men have no idea how women often have an evening out ruined because of some creep. I understand why you didn't want to be seen to make a fuss, it can make things worse and if nobody noticed, think you're to blame, but I do hope now you're older you wouldn't let the c**t get away with it.

I see Izzard's gone full on gaslighting, arrogant, overentitled trans identifying male. Does this mean he's completely off his head or he's just a truly horrible person? Either way, it's concerning that someone with such a lack of respect for 51% of the population is so desperate to get into politics and is being encouraged to do so by the Labour party.

Poor woman. My heart bleeds for her. Still, I'm not surprised. In my heart of hearts I always knew Izzard was a colossal ball bag.

This young woman’s socialized mandate to be ‘kind’ in the face of abuse is illustrative of the plight of many handmaidens. Trapped by a big smelly actively abusive man (trans ideology), she ignores every screaming instinct in her body, forgoes the opportunity to seek help, forgoes telling the abuser to fuck off even though she’s in a public venue. And meanwhile, the show goes on. Many handmaidens suffer ‘Stockholm Syndrome’. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Seeking approval from an abuser is a means of survival, a 'skill set' built into many women.

Oh, but she's no handmaid. She is *furious* at Eddie.

sorry I know you know this but just wanted to make absolutely clear to readers.

Yes, she's obviously matured into a courageous strong woman. So many nineteen year old women just cannot confront their abuser/s.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear that I am only using this woman's story as an almost perfect fable. In no way am I implying that she herself is a 'handmaiden' when the very opposite is true. I'm impressed with her, and pleased that she is pushing back against the insanity that is 'trans' ideology.
