Wadha and Yaniv, 2 Revolting Blokes who make me proud to be a TERF, a woman Tired of Explaining Reality to Feckwits. Every day, I seethe and seethe....and then, I seethe again, at the idiocy and the vile hatred of women and girls that is being allowed to take place openly, globally. Repeal and Remove, forever, every Gender Recognition Act, globally and every Gender Recognition Certificate too.

When I see or hear this man, it literally makes me feel ill. What kind of sick person do you have to be to go to work every day, knowing that your very presence retraumatises those you are being paid to help? Absolutely disgusting.

You're quite right, it is disgusting. Men abusing women and preventing them from getting access to help is nothing new. What is new is men preventing women from doing this from within organisations set up to help them, supposedly providing vital support to very vulnerable women, and there are few women more vulnerable than those who have been raped. A rape crisis centre for women that prioritises the desires of trans identified males cannot function as such and doesn't. It compounds the abuse women have already experienced and demonstrates no understanding of this.

It's not a matter of ignorance, gross insensitivity or a cretinous misunderstanding. Everyone who works in this field is aware that it is not simply preferable or important that women feel safe and be heard, it is essential. They all know that women in this position cannot have their boundaries compromised further, and to do so is a continuation of the abuse.

Everyone knows this well, but still it's happening because men have to be allowed to make the rules and get what they want. Claim women's identity, effectively prevent women from defining what womanhood is and apply one layer of oppression on top of another. Of course, only a bigot would point this out, but Mridul Wadhwa assures us that bigoted people, or in this case, women, can be victims too.

In a fair and just, non- misogynistic society, Wadhwa would be sharing this bullshit with himself because he wouldn't get close to having the platform he's standing on now.

Like you, I cannot understand why it isn’t a National scandal. And the only logical conclusion I have is that it’s because people in power do not prioritise women’s safety and do not care about women being raped. They see it as inevitable and not a fashionable cause. Trans rights, on the other hand…that’s definitely a fashion which has ridden the back of RuPaul’s Drag race, the TV series called ‘Pose’ etc. And when Politicians jump enthusiastically on the latest bandwagon, that gets them on the telly. And when Politicians get on the telly…well, they get votes.

I can’t understand why stonewall, as a charity, is allowed to get away with stuff outside its purpose either. I agree it is a scandal

Thanks for the reminder. Name and face etched in my memory. Is the Alba party taking note?

There is nothing bad enough that can happen to Wadhwa in my opinion. I want him out of any job, completely unemployable, and publicly vilified. I want him to become the very epitome of what happens to men who do this to women, who lie about sex, who try to undermine the work that has been done by and for women. I want him to become a total pariah. And some days, I'm not so reasonable.

All the above but to his enablers as well .

I've done some research on the trustees of ERC - at some point an influx of women came in all under age of 25 who had been at Edinburgh University. Only one gained a job post uni which VAGELY made her qualified working for the Childrens Panel. The others where a horrific pile of people without qualifications for the sector and starting dubious 'charities' which had blogs praising sex work. I think someone stuffed ERC with idiots and then moved Big Muriel in. Maggie Chapman who was on the board and a staff member at one point I think but now a lacklustre Green MSP is also fascinating. How did a woman with a degree in zoology, move from running a enviormental charity to running a muslim women's charity in Dundee segway into VAWG sector?

This is a bit like politics. People going straight from university to work as political research assistants then becoming MPs. Low calibre people with little relevant experience getting aboard the gravy train. They don't understand or give a stuff about people.

Basic public services are a mess in Scotland but there's no end of these organisations offering well paid non jobs telling the government whatever they want to hear.

As someone who has experienced sexual assault a few times as a child I can only comment about how I would feel being around other men.

And I can tell you now that I wouldn't have trusted any man. To be in the pocket of a man during a time I'm supposed to be receiving help.. I just don't know what that would do to me.

Perhaps I'd feel more at ease if I knew they didn't have a penis? But how do you bring that up in conversation? Would they share that knowledge with you during an introduction?

"Hello this is my name, these are my pronouns and I can confirm I am currently without a penis!"

Let's face it, these people don't care that women are beaten, raped and murdered. It's so common place its like going up to someone and saying, "I breathe oxygen!" No one cares, its not a shock.

When I joined the GC movement one of the things which shocked me was how many of us had been abused. You hear the stats, you believe the stats, but until you speak to so many women and hear their experiences or just the confirmation that they were also abused.. well I just don't think it had sunk in properly. Just numbers on a screen.

Charities belong to members of the public ultimately I think. That makes the trustees accountable to us. Is that something to pursue- anyone know about Charitable law? Years ago when I was a trustee we had to stick to the governing documents. Might be worth looking through them?

Wadha is still in post because he's a 'favourite' of Nicola Sturgeon - he suits her 'progressive' agenda.

It's that and that alone.

Wadha, Ogre and Madigan have a clearly demented compulsion to usurp women from their positions. I cringe watching them answer questions about how they plan to create safer spaces and policies for women. All answers point back to themselves with their confabulated repetitions of hate and exclusion. They don't see themselves as women and certainly don't understand the experiences of women. This morning I read about a French collective that reports on femicide (three murders in France already this year) and have been disbanded due to complaints of being trans exclusionary. There were NO trans murders to report. Batshit! So many incidents like these make it hard to believe this is anything other than a vengeful and fetishistic example of posturing and self obsession.

Expand full comment

Thanks BatThink, spot on. Three murders of women in France this year and we're not even two weeks in. That's horrific. How can we begin to stop this if we're not admitting or recognising it's happening.

This is hard to read; it all seems parody. How are we allowing this? Women are now putting their efforts into finding ways to report on trans-identified males as victims of femicide? This is mind bending. It's not 'inclusive'. It's centring men. Whatever happened to data integrity? Their data collection will be invalid. And 'some seem to have retained the toxic aspects of their former masculinity', is that the key statement that got them to change position? You can't collect any stats because of these screams of transphobia, it shuts things down and I don't understand how this is being allowed to stand. The pile-ons are so extreme and threatening from people who supposedly want peaceful lives.

This is top of the (very rapidly growing) list of things I can’t get my head around, how anyone can think this is ok!?! And on top of all their other bullshit, publicly supporting Yaniv… YANIV????? It’s beyond fucked up. This individual hates women. You will never convince me otherwise.

A lot of men don't like women very much, they want to use us but not share the power they have with us, and they want to compromise or take away what power we do have. Men like this are unlikely to give a damn about trans rights issues, they may even be contemptuous of trans people, but they don't see them as a threat. They're more contemptuous of women, who they do see as a threat.

Trans fan misogyny allows them to express all the malice they feel legitimately, because they're defending and supporting 'the most marginalised and discriminated against group' ever to exist. If enough men do this, (and they are doing) and if they manage to co-opt 'kind' women into surrendering the right to define themselves and set their own boundaries, as fought for by their mothers and grandmothers, they can more or less do what they want.

They can cancel women who don't want to be kind, have them made jobless or get them investigated by the police. They can infiltrate and even control women's organisations and women's spaces, dictate what language they can use and redefine them, or they can happily sit back and watch while this happens.

Yaniv needs to be institutionalized along with his mum. There are some people who belong in institutions where they are cared for properly and not allowed to run amok in society.

Totally disgusting that Wadha is still getting to keep this job and I find it very disturbing ,that he seems to be a pal of our First Minister ,who obviously gives him more support than she affords the female rape victims for whom this service was set up!.Can't understand how the current Scottish Government can just disregard a womens rights to the essential support they need ,preferring instead to pander to a man's narcissism. Makes me so angry and so sorry for those women who are unable to get the help they need.

Thank you for continuing to push this Graham. It’s a horrifying situation.

I’ve just sent a very long and detailed email to Scottish family detailing how they can email their MPs against self ID and asking them to donate to For Women Scotland. I can’t imagine Mridul isn’t massively on their radar at FWS but it’s full crisis mode there trying to fight self ID which Sturgeon is hellbent on corruptly forcing through.

Link for anyone else in Scotland or with Scottish friends/family: https://forwomenscotland.eaction.org.uk/MSP

I just think a lot of people don’t know/aren’t aware/are burying their heads in the sand/are too trusting. They need a push.

More than two. I'm from Edinburgh and I wouldn't use it.

It happened a long time ago. You keep going and think you're doing okay, push it to the back of your mind until something triggers you and you fall apart.

At the time I was lied to, told I was making it up, causing trouble, confused. My screams were signs I was hysterical, his being naked... well, he was just drunk and playing a prank. Everyone told me I didn't know what happened but they did and I needed to be quiet and listen.

I need help getting my head straight to deal with now what I wasn't allowed to deal with then and no way I'd go to the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre. And what? Be told more lies: no this isn't a man, you are confused, your causing trouble. Victims deserve and NEED truth.

Men rape your body but it is these lies and distortion of reality that rape the mind - shock your thoughts and make you doubt and blame yourself. It works in that it temporarily silences you but down the line that shit comes back. I wouldn't touch ERCC with a barge pole.

It's staggering how you write this, I read this and yet this, you, me, we are invisible. It's a struggle for me to find the vocabulary to describe how it leaves me. Reeling. We're here, we exist, yet we don't. I see you; we see you. Sending you my best wishes. You will find that support near you, keep speaking up, keep looking and keep as strong as you can muster.
