I have already written to my MP. This is a very dangerous piece of legislation being imposed against the will of the majority of the electorate i.e. authoritarianism.

Got a reply from my MP. He said he would write today to the Scotland Secretary to outline my views. It shows that at least some MP's are taking this seriously.

Thanks! I have used the WRN link too as it explains the issues in simplified form.

This is my second letter about the "Scottish mess" to my male Labour MP in one week.

He is a qualified solicitor and is currently the Shadow Solicitor General. You would think that he would be interested in the law on sex and gender but no, he has only ever engaged with me on safeguarding of "trans-kids", the so-called "Ban on conversion therapy for "Trans-children". In January 2021 we had a 10 minute Zoom chat where I convinced him that this was indeed a safeguarding issue for minors. It was the first time he had wanted to discuss "Trans" at all.

He shows poor critical thinking skills. He does not examine definitions. I'm sorry but I expect more of lawyers.

I think that I will write a third e-mail referring him to the Sex-Matters briefing. He really, really needs to get his head around the legal difficulties that Nicola Sturgeon is throwing in the path of the UK Gov, which will come back to haunt a Labour Gov, thanks to Nicola Sturgeon's "Independence at all costs" approach!

Thanks. I have used that, hoping the email goes through a different server. My MP blocked my email address ages ago - she is a member and former chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for advancing men's rights worldwide (it's called APPG LGBT but we all know what that means eh? Get men in women's toilets! AND she's a lesbian - sellout).

It’ll come from one of our mailboxes with a cc to you ;-)

Go to one of her surgeries? She couldn't refuse to see you, could she? Just a thought. I have "ambushed" my MP on the local shopping high street - LOL!

I've written to Scottish Secretary as no point trying my MP as she's SNP and very much on the cabal

Write to your MP as well. You are the voter and she needs your vote to get elected, and there may be many people in your constituency that agree with you. She will not know unless you tell her.

I have told my MP several times on this issue as well on many other issues where my opinion is not an SNP one. Guess what? She does nowt... When I asked for numbers of constituents who want this change, she tells me there are many but not numbers as she doesn't have to. I didn't vote for her this last election but there are still enough "cultists" who believe SNP is the cult of independence.

I have written to my MP, thank you Graham for the push.

I really cannot understand that woman!!!

That'll be the accent lol

Written, but don't expect a positive response - from my previous emails she is totally captured, so I just get a lecture on how wrong I am (sigh!)

You’re not wrong, your mp is wrong. its against all the principles of our liberal secular democracy to expect women and girls who don’t want to have to BY LAW share private spaces with humans with male bodies. It elevates mens ‘identities’ above the biological rights of women and girls. It is a truly illiberal and undemocratic betrayal of the basic principles that are the foundation of our society. Well thats what i think. Plus its just rude.

Thank you. I find it quite annoying that a new MP can lecture me - a 65 year old lifetime supporter, former parliamentary candidate and councillor. Over the years I have knocked on tens of thousands of doors to get the views of those people that matter and to protect our democracy, but some MPs don't care. And yes, you're right it's just rude!

well for what its worth, i think you are great for all that. i stand on the left- but against rudeness.

An opportunity to write back refuting each and every point - or more likely reframing the issue into OUR language, the language of science and reality. I know it takes time, time and more time. Thank you so, so much.

Our problem up here is the number of SNP MPs. They are not willing to speak agin the Scottish Government even when asked to by their constituents. This is not democracy but dictatorship. I have written to all the non SNP MPs in Scotland but as they say, unless I am a constituent, their hands are tied but they will ask their constituents what they want. Hopefully a cross cutting section will say ask questions and vote with the UK Government. Maybe then, the SNP will get the message. The majority in Scotland did not want this change because it was unnecessary. If transpeople want hormones and/or surgery, that is a medical issue snd therefore "demedicalisation" of process makes no sense and is in fact, nonsense.

Done. Have written to my MP. Siobhan Baillie, Stroud. Conservative. You’d think she’d oppose but God knows. Not shown much sign of a backbone thus far. Still- I sincerely hope that I’m completely wrong.

But my MP is Chatlotte Nichols (Labour)she wont do anything as she is so captured by gender woo.

Please still write. Honestly, it could make a difference

It is is still important to outline your views to her, you are the voter.

Please still write. Labour MPs need to understand why gender-critical voices are logical, cogent and flagging up a host of very serious issues.

I always ask my labour mp to raise my concerns with the minister for equality or whichever gov department is relevant. Your mp can’t ignore you just because she disagrees with you. Good luck!

HEARTFELT THANKS from Scotland to everyone who writes.

SNP/Greens a lost cause. Prior to the vote concentrated on Labour MSP'S.

However, Keir Starmer visited with Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar, late December with the clear instruction to vote for the GRR.

So to be clear a Muslim man, was persuaded to vote for legislation (and whip his colleague to do the same) that will inevitably lead to his own wife and female relatives to self exclude from what used to be women only spaces?

Frankly unbelievable.

We are in dire straits but fighting on.

I think the Scottish campaigners against all this BS are just amazing fantastic people. You are all the front line and you have my gratitude and admiration.

Done - thanks for the reminder.

I've also drawn his attention to the petition 'Update the Equality Act to make clear the characteristic “sex” is biological sex' and asked for his support in getting a debate.

if a women went to your smp and said ‘look i just don’t feel comfortable around male bodies in private spaces, i don’t hate them or think they are perverts, i just don’t want to be around male bodies when i’m for example, using the railway station toilet at midnight’. What on earth could be a reasonable response that justifies the law demanding that women share that space with a man? Its so wrong.

Exactly this. Also lets not forget its not just women its also young girls at risk too.
