Women In Possession Of Opinions Will Be Barred
Scottish women must have their opinions approved by the manager before ordering at the bar
Marion Millar was ejected from an Edinburgh bar by the manager, a trans-identified male, who then called the police on her friends.
A group of around 10 women were enjoying a drink and something to eat at Doctors Bar in the centre of Edinburgh after attending a production at the fringe festival. The manager recognised Marion Millar and told her to leave.
Marion told 4W that the manager approached her shortly after she had arrived and told her, “I know who you are, finish your drink and leave, terf!”. Not wishing to cause an incident, Marion left almost immediately.
After Marion left, the manager was determined to oust the rest of the party and so called the police. Five officers arrived at the scene.
The remaining women explained that they had not done anything to cause offence. However, the police officers insisted that the licensee is entitled to ask them to leave and instructed them to vacate the premises.
This is the trans-identified male who manages Doctors Bar and goes by the Twitter handle, ‘Mebulous Entity’.
He has now protected his account but not before he did a lot of very public bragging about ejecting Marion and her friends from the venue and sent a stream of puerile and insulting tweets to anyone who objected to his behaviour.
He claims the women’s presence was somehow making his staff and customers ‘feel threatened’, but his social media swaggering suggests there were rather different motives behind his actions.
It seems women with opinions about their sex and/or sex-based rights will be not be made welcome at Doctors Bar.
But then Mebulous Entity doesn’t seem to have any respect for women generally.
He claims to be a children’s entertainer.
Which is rather concerning given his propensity for talking about his dick and his ‘bewbs’ on a public forum.
And posting pictures of his ‘bewbs’ on a public forum.
And posting lurid descriptions of his sex life on a public forum.
But whatever his personal opinions and proclivities, it’s pretty clear that they affect his professional conduct.
If he doesn’t approve of a customer’s legally held opinions, they’ll be thrown out.
As James points out, this breaches the venue’s licencing conditions.
Doctors Bar is one of the Bellhaven pub chain. According to the website, “High standards of customer service” can be expected in all of its venues. Unless you’re a woman with opinions, of course.
Bellhaven Pubs is owned by the Greene King brewery which can be contacted here. In case you’d like to drop them a line and let them know that women won’t wheesht.
I'm just so fucking angry! Marion deserves so much better than what Sturgeon's shitehole has thrown at her.
I actually know this little wretch. Didn’t realise it was him until I looked through his Twitter profile and saw some of his picks this morning. Weirdly, looking at his tweets, he seems to write like he’s proper Scottish but I always remember him having one of those middle class accents that sounds English. Appropriating Scottishness as well it seems!
