On Monday night the London branch of the Green Party was electing its Regional Council officers.
Each region of the Green Party elects two officers (one of each sex) to represent it on the party's regional council.
Hilariously, the Regional Council co-chairs are described as “Self identifying non-male” and “Self identifying non-female”.
One of the candidates for the women’s role in London was Danny Keeling. He describes himself as “genderqueer” and doesn’t identify as either male or female…
…But he’s a man.
Keeling did not attend the London Green Party meeting on Monday but his standing for a woman's post did meet with criticism from the members there. So he took to social media to moan about this, calling those who objected to his candidacy “TERFs” and accusing them of “Dirty play”.
Apparently, he thinks proclaiming, “I can find a dick to whip around” is going to persuade the electorate that he’s not male and that he's entitled to take a role intended for women.
Meanwhile, over in the Bristol, Kathryn Bristow is standing for election as co-chair of Green Party Women. (Under the party’s lunatic rules Green Party Women is open to any member who “identifies as a woman” or is “gender-variant”. So men as well.)
Bristow lists his pronouns as “Fae/She/They” and describes his gender identity, rather confusingly, as “A woman and non-binary… I’m not a man or a woman”…
…But he’s a man.
Bristow insists that women’s liberation must be trans-inclusive and he is especially keen to support and mentor women in the party “With intersectional identities”. In other words, he thinks feminism should prioritise men.
You may remember Bristow recently announced being “solo-polyamorous” and expressed his desire to meet more “non-monogamous Greens”.
A young man desperate for plenty of no-strings sex is hardly unique. But Bristow using the political party in which he holds office as sort a thinly disguised Tinder is pretty sordid.
The Polyamorous Greens group was set up by this guy, Nick Humberstone.
Regular readers may recall he had some difficulty defining the word “Woman” when he stood as Deputy Leader earlier this year.
Last week we wrote a very disturbing piece about a previous candidate for the role of Green Party Deputy Leader.
Aimee Challenor, whose child rapist father was at his elbow his entire political career, who was manipulated by predatory men from his early teens, whose husband writes sexual fantasies involving children, very nearly ended up Deputy Leader of the Greens and left the party with some serious explaining to do.
They have to put their house in order and stop giving so much power to narcissistic young men. Otherwise, history may well repeat itself.
Self Identifying non male. Self identifying non female. What next? Self identifying non fish? How about a non bird. Or a non insect.
Oh wow, I just made up three more gender identities. What do I win? <------- sarcasm.
I'll hold my hand up to leaving the Green Party because of this. I'm sure other GP members have left due to this 'centre the political universe on me' group, when there are much more important issues in the world.
