This is something I know about academia after having studied at one of the three top UK universities for the study of Anglo-American Analytic philosophy (basically the study of Logic as applied to science and mathematics and language and politics). I have a deep respect for politicians who rose from the academic world to achieve prominence in politics, most notably, Harold Wilson (read about his academic superiority), but those who simply remain in academia and never try to raise their head above the parapet but all the time are subverting and controlling vulnerable teenage minds are the worst. They are usually to be found delivering political messages before a lecture (Example while at university I kept being told, by various academics, to demonstrate on the streets against various political policies of the time) Couple that with a pressure from the students union to accept that "old fuddy duddies are to be mistrusted and here's what you need to rebel against". It isn't just the academics at fault, in the UK the students union needs to be cut down to size too. Young minds are being delivered the politics of fools and are no longer being educated but taught what to think. Education should teach the skills to think, not what should be thought

If there weren’t people like you researching, reporting and clarifying it would be so much easier for the nut jobs to win. Although there are the brave and relentlessly brave feminists there, It’s so disappointing that you don’t have countless big names - journalists, politicians and celebrities standing right beside you all. Even worse is that they know you’re right and this aggressive gender ideology has no basis in reality. They know it’s not real, but no-one wants to be the first to admit it. Another issue in Irish journalism is the interplay between journalism and politics. This week Colette Browne has taken up a communications role with the Social Democrats. She is on a long list of journalists turned political advisor. Which means, firstly, that journalists will be slow to criticise politicians who may give them a less precarious and better paid job. But more to the point, they won't pursue an issue like this which take on govt policy and bring them heat. Well done to Wayne O Connor. P.s. Rubberbandits are supposed to be intellectuals!

Your bravery gave me the courage to speak out and this site gives me the resources to back up my arguments - I'm 57, lifelong feminist and never thought I'd be arguing about why male sex offenders shouldn't be housed in women's prisons and why lesbians don't have dicks at this stage of my life!
