When I was a student in Leeds in the 80s, the police told women to stay indoors because they couldn’t catch Peter Sutcliffe (the so-called Yorkshire Ripper) They failed because of their attitude towards women, ignoring witnesses and dividing us into ‘good girls’ and ‘bad girls’. I’ve never expected the police or judicial system to protect women but, as with all the other misogynists, trans ideology has made them more open about the fact that they somehow don’t consider women fully human and really don’t think we should be participating in public life as men do.

Joan Smith wrote a brilliant essay onthis in her book Misogynies. She was a cub reporter in Leeds at the time. His first victom was a white middle class girl. She survived & she described his voice (not Geordie). They decided that it couldn't have been the 'Ripper' because he only attcked prostitutes and followed the whole wrong lead for a long time. Many women died because of police prejudice against women. The reality was he attacked women & girls. It was a shocking time but I'd say things are actually worse now.

Well at least light-fingered Graham didn’t take any liberties with the Eason’s female staff. My wife worked there one summer circa 1976 when she was a student and a blind man used to come in and ask for assistance in finding a particular book. He would then touch the bum of the girl when she bent down or stretched up to get the relevant publication off its shelf. The blind Pew-perv used to pull the same stunt when I worked in Fred Hannas (now sadly closed) in Nassau St. in the summers of 1976 and 1977 -except there the lads in the shop would step in to get the book for him thus saving Delia and Deirdre the embarrassment of getting felt by his nibs.

Sadly, I agree with you. Although some of my fellow students didn’t like the fact (one man commented “They’ve lost all my support now”, prompting me to ask what he’d actually done so far), we could actually meet in women-only groups. That meant we could identify the problem as male violence and talk about our own experiences, get a political analysis etc. We wouldn’t be able to do that now without men insisting on being involved and then taking over. I do honestly believe that 2nd wave feminists raised public consciousness about rape and violence against women and girls, and about child abuse. The first step was meeting as women. Trans ideology used as a wedge seems to me to be an ideal way for men to ensure women can’t do this and can’t challenge the access to our bodies which they genuinely perceive as their right. No wonder the police find it so natural to support a movement that is essentially about male control over women’s bodies, spaces and identities. And so natural to side with those telling women to stay home and look after their kids.

As the late, great Mary Daly once wrote, competition among women benefits men. Women meeting alone has always been perceived as dangerous. One of my favorite films is Raise the Red Lantern (1991). It illustrates this perfectly.

Listen to Laura Richards podcast, Crime Analyst, if you want a great description of how much the police bungled the Yorkshire murders investigation. She refuses to name him or use his serial killer nickname because he’s a piece of shit who doesn’t deserve recognition, so I won’t either. Anyway, I highly recommend it

Hmm strange we don’t see the police supporting other ‘vulnerable’ groups. They could certainly do with more training on sexism, racism and disability. But I guess that’s of no interest to all the misogynists and male fetishists hidden within the police ranks who love their day of virtue signalling.

When my son with Down's Syndrome went missing once aged 13, the police were brilliant looking for him, they got the helicopter out and loads of officers, I was incredibly grateful. He was found after about 90 minutes safe and sound. They were really lovely and did a brilliant job. But I was slightly disconcerted to be asked "Has he ever got in trouble with the police / does he take drugs / is he in a gang?" He has severe learning difficulties!!! He was like a much younger child!! They didn't seem that clued up on disability.

I was there. It eas shocking but never that put you off attending. We had a great time, heard some inspiring speakers, sang along with Mr Menno and saw the force of nature that is Kellie-Jay Keen in full flow. She is brave, funny and bold and gives courage to women (and men) everywhere. I'll be doing it again because we cannot let these vile thugs silence us.

Expand full comment

I watched the whole of Kellie Jay's footage of the Bristol event. Any journalists claiming there were aggressions on both sides is such clear nonsense, as it's clear the majority of the Stand up for Women group were middle-aged, including women with disabilities and mobility issues.

Included in the footage, - it was good to listen to a recently retired female police officer calling out her former bosses and reminding us of the idiotic ideological-driven rule about intimate strip searches

having to be carried out according to 'identities', rather than biological reality. NB this means that female officers would of course have to strip search men (if they say they are women)!

Expand full comment

Women prison officers in Ireland have been instructed to strip search males claiming to be women according to a recent report in the Sunday Times (Irl edition). Until recently the policy was that women searched the criminal's top half and a male prison officer then searched the criminal's lower half. Then the Trans mob and their enablers amongst the human rights racketeers complained that that policy was Transphobic.

It's interesting to think that when the misogynistic Irish Roman Catholic Church ran this country nothing so fundamentally disgusting was forced on women. Now that Liberal leftists are in charge anything goes.

It seems that the ideological capture within UK police services is proving useful throughout the hierarchy. It's providing them with an opportunity to endorse and express the misogyny inherent within the organisation as a whole; it's something plenty of female officers and non-misogynistic male officers are familiar with and affected by. Figuratively, they are the masked bullies in black, and literally they are enabling and assisting them, something they're not even concealing. I'd question how many of these officers care about trans women and trans rights, etc, but it's irrelevant, they hate women and they can legitimately play that out in this context. Utter Bastards.

I am going to write to the Home Office, and to .? the overall body in charge of the police in England about the ‘No TERFs on our turf sign’. This clearly states that the Bristol Police have endorsed private citizens deciding where other private citizens are permitted to enter, in other words , a no go zone for any woman that some unspecified other person decides is unsuitable because of their perfectly legal beliefs.

Can you send me the screen shot of this sign please Graham? I will post my letter here and I hope other people will follow suit.

I see this is Manchester, not Bristol. There is no Police commissioner for this area, it has been rolled into the Mayor. There is no longer any other supervision of police forces other than the Minister for Police, Kit Malthouse. Interesting how the controls on the Police have been politicised or just removed.

100%. Trans ideology & rhetoric is embedded in the Police Service and obviously many other Corporations. That it is so embedded in a Public Service like the Police that claims to be ‘neutral’ is a scandal.

I had first-hand experience about the mindset of young Police trainees & the College of Police’s thinking in 2015 . I met a trans man who clearly linked the use of handcuffs to Sex games & was a regular on ‘Grinder’ . He was part of the new intake & I think he was heading to Avon & Somerset Police.

I can’t help thinking the Trans movement is a headonistic sex-fuelled S/M cult. No wonder they’re attracted to the Police - plenty of opportunities for uniforms and accessories, restraint, use of excessive force (the attraction is mutual between the wants of sex addicts & the State?

It makes me laugh that some of those anarchists are supporting the trans Police Force!

That ‘guy’ in the photo - the one who refers to Tim Farron in the header ... I reckon ‘he’ is a trans man (a young woman in her early twenties). Look at the shape of the face & the scrawny body?

Does it matter? In the sense that it helps put things in context & builds a bigger profile pic of who’s involved in trans activism then yes, it does matter. The ‘Black Mob’ or whatever the call themselves don’t look so intimidating once you start pulling them apart.

Naturally, they are mostly from privileged middle class backgrounds. Their parents probably paid for their education and their futures. Professionally, they have good lives ahead of them. Good for them at least, because I'm sure a significant proportion will have careers that involve them making decisions affecting the lives of people less powerful than they are.

Self gratifying 'activism' is their act of bullying, low risk rebellion, before they ditch it all and focus on what's important to them, such as working to maximise the advantages they already have. They're the kind of men who want to be able express their hatred and prejudices freely and securely.

Over all, male society is fine with misogyny, they're happy to see it flourish, as it is doing here. This lot can't exhibit their racial, ethnic and religious prejudices so overtly. The police and other institutions would have to pretend they don't approve. But not this.

Expand full comment

Surely if ‘male society’ really was happy to see misogyny flourish then to a man they would all convert to Islam? Have up to four wives and as many concubines as the welfare system will support, give them a religiously-permitted beating if they badly cook dinner or answer back or refuse to have sex etc.

Please get real.

Some of the biggest supporters of the Trans cult are women. And it’s mostly mothers, not fathers, who push their kids into the Trans shite - presumably for the attention she gets.

No one needs to convert - they can join the police and/or vote for a woman who doesnt know what a woman is eg SNP. Actually Karl, it's not so much 'male society' happy as not too bothered and vested interests imho.... Women are much more likely to notice and feel a lot stronger about this sorta thing for obvs reasons. That excludes female egotists n grifters ocourse ....

Expand full comment

Why should I 'get real', you're not bothering to? You seriously think this most of this society needs to look to other societies and cultural traditions for ideas and inspiration about oppressing and objectifying women.

There is an abundance of misogyny in Muslim societies, but maybe you should reconsider some of the stereotypes you're using. Few Muslim woman are second, third or fourth wives. And regarding... "as many concubines as the welfare system will support"... I'm not sure what source you have for this other than your own prejudice.

Gender identity ideology and all the excesses associated with it certainly has some women supporters, and you should ask yourself why that is.

Expand full comment

I was saying if a misogynist wanted to he COULD convert and enjoy those religiously-permitted ‘perks’. I never said ALL Muslims have lots of wives and concubines. However, it is a fact that some do (largely depending

on where they come from in terms of region and culture).

My strong objection is the sweeping statement that ‘overall male society is happy to see misogyny flourish’. I for one am not willing to have my entire sex regularly slandered because of the sins of a minority.

Expand full comment

There would be no need for a misogynist to become Muslim, he already has more than enough perks, and additional ones not ordinarily available to Muslim men. And you might not have said all Muslim men have several wives, but you implied that it wasn't exceptional, whereas it is

I don't regard my statement as sweeping, if it wasn't wasn't true, everything that is happening right now wouldn't be. The police wouldn't stand back whilst very aggressive men tried to intimidate and threaten a group of women at a legitimate and legal gathering.

Health service managers wouldn't consent to the corrupting of language and terminology used in medical literature, concerning conditions and diseases that exclusively affect women, so that the word 'women' is excluded.

The media, with a few prominent exceptions, wouldn't ignore or grossly and intentionally misinterpret what is happening in trans activists favour.

Female victims of a sexual assault carried out by a trans women or man who claims to be transgender, would'n't be told when the case is investigated or gets to trial, to refer to their rapist as 'she' and 'her'. They wouldn't have to say the words 'her penis', or potentially risk facing a penalty.

None of these things, and lots more, could occur in a society not suffused with misogyny. It would never reach that stage or be permitted to. I don't believe all men have a hand in this, some men who know about this do react against it and they support women, the problem is that that most don't. They might not be screaming 'Terf Scum' at women, or threatening to rape and murder them, but they don't appear to be acting upon any alarm they feel either. Obviously, some men don't know anything about this, particularly older men, but most of them will have witnessed other forms of derision and hostility towards women. How many of them reacted against that? I don't know, but I'm guessing it wasn't nearly enough.
