Trans orthodoxy would have a vulnerable woman ‘cared for’ by a man. Intimate care. The original sin of the orthodoxy (the ‘belief’ that a man can become a woman) leads to an infinite number of betrayals and crimes against women and children and vulnerable men. It will never end until the cult is ended.
You are digging into the origins of this sickness Graham and we may be nearly there. I have long pondered over what it is about Irish society that tolerates and has tolerated the abuse of women. It never seemed to fit with the Irish people I met and liked and yet there it sits in your history - sinister and unrelenting.
The Catholic Church is built upon woman exclusion and woman hatred. Mentally, emotionally, physically, sexually, and spiritually abusive, it sits at the pinnacle of patriarchy. Masters of patriarchy. High priests of patriarchy. Patriarchy in ornate robes skulking under golden domes and spires. Some people, like Colm O'Gorman just cannot shake the cult thinking they’ve imbibed since childhood.

If you believe a disabled woman should be forced to have a man cleaning and changing her in order to avoid the blasphemy of admitting that a man can't be a woman" then yes - you're in a cult.
Like every cult it's also a magnet for opportunists - financial, sexual, power-hungry etc but if you'd tolerate grotesque cruelty towards disabled & imprisoned women in service of the "greater good" of denying biological reality, then the best one can say about you is that you're in a cult.
The mental health "professionals" who immediately affirm an "identity" with clear trauma origins, who won't keep data, won't do studies on detransitioners, who promote inappropriately sexualized "drag shows" for young children and fantasy unicorn teaching programs are not fit for purpose.
Because of the political forces propping up this charade while defaming the rest of us, it is going to seem worse to us, before it gets better.
I sense that it will be up to us lay people, together with brilliant voices like James Esses and Az Hakeem's, to outline healing programs for detransitioners and somatic physical therapies for body/mind reconnections for those who ideate they are in the "wrong body." Listening to Richie Herron and Kiera Bell will inform us. I do not see the other side giving way, taking stock or reconsidering. They make too much money from the trans industry.

I'm sure you're right about the psychology of the crushed sexuality of many priests. I'm afraid this movement is a perfect storm of the worst of human motivations - power, control, hate, greed - all now supercharged on the internet
