What happened to Caroline Farrow

Adrain Harrop's campaign of terror against one woman

Caroline Farrow is a broadcaster who received some media attention in late 2018 for stating the suddenly taboo fact that 'people cannot change sex'. Unfortunately for her, this brought her to the attention of Doctor Adrian Harrop, who had already demonstrated his contempt and hostility towards any woman who dared speak that view aloud.

Caroline's husband is a Catholic priest at two parishes and in 2019 Harrop asked Stephanie Hayden for a game of golf, using a picture of one of her husband's churches. Hayden famously has a conviction for attacking a man with a golf club.

Hayden had by this point launched legal actions against several people over their views on the debate and turned up at her house to serve her papers (this image was taken by Farrow inside her home shortly after the golf club tweets were posted).

Hayden’s lawsuit against Farrow followed months of online provocation and goading of Farrow, forming a tag team with Dr Harrop.

In advance of arriving at Farrow’s house, Hayden and Harrop boasted about holding a public meeting about her and Dr Harrop live-tweeted Hayden’s progress as he made his way to her doorstep.

Farrow had been subject to months of online hatred and abuse from a website called ‘Tombstone Teeth’ set up specifically to attack and abuse Farrow,. At one point, the website’s authors demanded she donate money to Stonewall, in order to make the abuse stop.

In addition to doxing Farrow, the blog mocked her concerns about the safety of her children and herself in the most appalling terms.

Another example of the site’s sense of humour.

One of the men behind the blog was Gareth Hopkins, who had begun his abuse on a site called gjh.org.uk before switching to Tombstone Teeth.

Stephanie Hayden tweeted how amusing they found the site, which coincidentally got taken down the day it was condemned by the judge in Farrow’s High Court hearing.

How does this relate to Dr Harrop? According to Hopkins himself, Harrop emailed him to stop him from attending Hayden’s injunction hearing against Farrow for fear that his presence might negatively impact the case.

So Dr Harrop was in direct contact with an abusive website which he knew had been terrorising Farrow for months.

At one point, a Twitter account, called ‘puppet boy’ sprung up. This account tweeted two abusive videos - one entitled ‘Sweet Caroline’, expressing the hope that Farrow would be ‘raped by the gays that you hate’ and another named ‘Sweet little *****’ directing abuse at Farrow’s then 8 year old daughter.

The account had one follower - Dr Adrian Harrop.

Later that year Caroline's ESTA to visit the USA was withdrawn just before she was about to travel, with no explanation given why. At the same time, Dr Harrop revealed he'd just visited the US embassy in London.

Caroline posted details about her children on Instagram, as many mothers do. Harrop then revealed a couple of weeks later that he'd been following the account and knows her children's names and the schools they attend, making comments about their mental states.  

He also implied he had compromising images of Caroline Farrow that he would distribute, despite this being in breach of revenge porn legislation. He also said he was tracking her periods and mocked her mental state.

Harrop then said he might order 100 rainbow lanyards and have them sent to clinical staff who operate in Caroline's area. And when Caroline said Disney should spend less effort preaching about LGBT in their films, he joked about her getting Covid-19.

Caroline’s family then received several takeaway deliveries, traced back to Farnborough, that they didn't order. Harrop then tweeted that he'd been speaking to police and put his location as 'Farnborough'. 

Caroline doesn't actually live in Farnborough, but in between there and Godalming. Shortly afterwards, Harrop, who lives in Liverpool, tweeted that his location was now in Godalming. He did this in a tweet that mocked her for having called the police about him.

Harrop then updated his Twitter banner to an image of the Surrey Hills.
