I was banned from Twitter for mocking the notion that anyone is 'assigned a gender' at birth.

you banned too?

Expand full comment

Oh, not recently. This was a year or two ago.

I appealed after the Forstater verdict and Twitter reinstated me with an apology, saying I should not have been banned.

Wasn't Menno permanently banned for asking someone which transwoman was going to be their surrogate? 😄👏

Expand full comment

Maybe when they get their womb transplants?

Expand full comment

Putting the trans in transplants.

Indeed. Though the words that come to my mind are Frankenstein’s monster.

Dr. Frankenstein worked for Mermaids right?

I expect so. And probably his creature too, why the hell not 😁

My account was locked for asking a certain Pink News editor in the process of admonishing lesbians for not sleeping with men how many transmen he’d slept with, himself.

Fair question I thought, considering the pressure being put on homosexual women. No?

Haven’t been able to access my account since, as there’s an issue with email authentication.

Oh well done that’s a great question. Certainly one if like an answer to plus I’d like to know how many het men on twitter have dated TW being that they say “TWAW”

Expand full comment

Yes. @TTerfervilles, case ref 0293304387.

Non-specific reasons that my account "broke the twitter rules".

My profile says "Old enough to remember when a man in women's toilets was regarded as a pervert, and when priests were trusted with boys".

A comment seemed to set trigger a report, when I responded to @mysadsicklife who has a female anime yet reckons they're a "trans man" "You can't change your gametes, ma'am"

despite only having 5000 followers I seem to have been targetted byTRAS for a few months beforeI was suspended... I think because despite my small numbers I got loads and loads of retweets one post I did got 36 000 views. I also got lots of sales and donations for For Women Scotland.

I have appealed twice using Equality Act and Forstater.... in my arguements

I tried that.

For two years they never told me why and then when I called them out for allowing child porn on the platform, they said targeted harassment.

Finally.

Family Education Trust. Currently suspended for sharing the Telegraph article about the transgender singer Jordan Gray stripping live on air on channel 4. Shared the article in a thread and got suspended after a Twitter user complained that one tweet was "hateful conduct". From a mainstream UK newspaper article that had already been published!

They're such unimaginative frigging dullards. It beggars belief.

Appalling!

I was banned because I dare to ask for the name of one single human being who was able to change his sperm in eggs ..🙄

And, also, because I begun to ask to TRA to define what a Transwoman could be (by including fluid and non binary people🙄🙄).

My appeal number?🤔🤔🤔

They don't even accept my appeal. They block my pseudo AND my phone number and wasn't able to complain about anything... I will try again and see if it could be change...

I was 'permanently suspended' but a couple of days ago, weeks after my umpteenth appeal, I received the following message:

Hello,

After further review, we have unsuspended your account as it does not appear to be in violation of the Twitter Rules.Your account is now unsuspended. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience. Please note that it may take 24-48 hours for your follower and following numbers to return to normal. Thanks, Twitter.

They never, not even once, explained to me what I'd done wrong. I sent them numerous, increasingly irate and indignant emails about my having been 'banned without charge', and even threatened legal action. Weeks of silence passed and then suddenly I was 'acquitted'. Arseholes.

I was suspended in June ‘22 (ongoing) for “hateful content” for saying “If trans existence means suicide without surgeries, hormones & social input, it’s a mental health issue.if trans existence doesn’t require hormones or surgery it has no bearing on sex specific laws. If safety is at stake, women’s spaces are not a male refuge, so 3rd spaces needed” Appeals using a fellow terfs successful experience of using Mayo Clinic guidance for suicide, have been unsuccessful

you're just too damn logical, that's yer problem!

Yes I was. However, I was not given a reason why. I only posted sex realist and pro women, gay and child rights stuff on there though so the reason is clear enough.

@reality_cat21 account no. 0293787166

Just appealed to ask for the reason. I didn't at the time because Twitter had killed off too many of my brain cells by the time I was banned anyway.

European Commission is doubling down on this. Elon Musk tweeted "the bird is free" and Thierry Breton responded "in Europe, the bird will fly by our EU rules". The European Commission has said "our Digital Services Act will ensure that online platforms better protect internet users in a safe and accountable digital space". I'd hazard a guess that this means saving people from biological reality and holding feminists, LGB activists and concerned parents to the Graham Norton version of account and consequences. So no freedom of speech here, then.

Good point! Use a VPN, it might work. Sorry you're unfortunate enough to be in the EU. In Britain we have to get the hate speech laws binned and reform our bullying police.

The European & MSM reaction to & panic about Musk owning Twitter is so over the top it’s really interesting & revealing. They’re like Wasps attacking a threat to the nest or Bees to the hive (sorry for coincidental use of Bee analogy)

I think that some of those in the Twitter red pencil department have realised that the sincere posters they have been censoring can easily show receipts, and that their jobs may be in jeopardy if people sense Elon's free speech largesse and start to get litigious. I have been 'unsuspended' in recent days and I know I'm not the only one. Oh, in one of my numerous appeals, I also mentioned the 'Forstater rule', plus the name of a very successful legal bigwig. I'd like to think that this made someone see sense, but I doubt it. In the end, I think they 'unsuspended' me because not even they could make anything stick.

I have only had ⚠️ warnings for use of derogatory names towards delusional men. I had to delete or would have been slung off. My name is as it appears on twitter. Claire Coleman Ellis 😎

Yes, I just got banned for saying that I didn’t believe that anyone was born in the wrong body, but that there were varying degrees of mental disorders that meant people got relief (or sexual excitement) from pretending they were the opposite sex. I appealed the accusation of “violence, discrimination and harassment” since it was just a statement of my own views, and I hadn’t mentioned any individuals or said anything violent or threatening but no, the appeal was denied and I was invited to delete the tweet if I wanted to go back on Twitter. I declined. Compelled speech is not my thing.

what was your username and do you have an appeal number?

My username was Humanbean, (@humanbeanhk), but I wasn’t give an appeal number. Just an email saying they had received the appeal request and then another about six hours later saying they’d reviewed the appeal and decided a violation of their terms had taken place.
