Hours after Gill published that and everyone started RTing it, Mermaids put up a new PR page on their site with a new party line: "OK, of course we USED to say it, but our language has evolved and now it's wrong and hurtful and no one should say it any more (except for trans ppl, it's still apparently ok if they want to say it)." https://mermaidsuk.org.uk/news/do-you-still-use-the-phrase-born-in-the-wrong-body/

It's dizzying trying to keep up with how fast they're spinning. They seem frantic at this point.

Yeah, yeah! "We only ever said it in the first place so as' all the dead-slow 'cis' mofos could gain SOME kind of purchase on even a fleeting insight into the wonderful, magical world that is having a Trans Identity! Is it really our fault?! Huh?" (or words to that effect) are an absolute masterclass in manipulative bullshit. I almost feel as if some kudos is due, you know.

What I really wonder is: How seriously do you think they'll adhere to trying to stick the "Born In the Wrong Body" narrative in the memory hole? Stalin himself would be impressed if anyone came even remotely near to accomplishing such a feat, especially in the age of the internet. I know there are many a Woke Dude bro in the industry, but still...

They now seem to be going with, “well yes we *said* that people can be born in the wrong body, but we didn’t mean it literally, it was just a way for people to understand how trans people feel.” The problem with that is, kids don’t look for whether what they’re being told is literal or metaphorical, and people said these words to kids (and their parents), knowing they would be taken as fact, which is disgraceful. I feel for parents who took their kids as young as 3 to Mermaids and believed them when they told them they’d been born wrong, thinking they were doing the right thing for their kid. Watching this back peddling from them must be hard for them. Mermaids and the like have so much explaining to do.

It's worse than that. They are now saying that there is no such thing as wrong body, ergo a man can just declare himself a woman at will. No need for surgery, hormones, puberty blockers or any of all that inconvenience and expense.

We knew this was coming, in some way, when BBC removed mermaids from their trans support charity page - we just didn't know exactly how they would play it!!

Except BBC continues the mess in their own way. Pink news and BBC along with Netflix should go down

Oh... So, now the "born in the wrong body" narrative is "Hurtful" and "We have far more sophisticated language to describe our experience"...

Gaslighting par excellence!

Awesome collation of data by Gill R. Good sleuthing and Receipts to prove the point.

Wish Netflix would have used the precise words while advertising Bailey boy being a girl because they love Cinderella Barbie toys and pink dresses. Atleast we could have sued that site for open hurtful propaganda.

Need to see what is pink news going to print while Thier CEO Benji wails around , flooding twitter with his fake woke tears.
