Absolutely friggin ridicularse n shameful behaviour from 'special measures' Wiltshire police. Hope she formally complains - how dare they ask her daughter for her name ...... trust in the police is already lowest of low. Actual policing of actual crime is too much bother for em obvs. They will be sorry.

They will, but they should be sorry right now. How would they defend this use of their time and her time? It doesn't sound like they were in full possession of the facts. Do police now just turn up to question people based on a complaint that they haven't investigated and don't really understand?

This is so sinister. The police are an overstretched, underfunded service, they tell people they can't look into certain crimes, items of stolen property, for example. But two of them can turn up to Kellie J's house, seemingly not really knowing what they're supposed to be doing, and question her.

Obviously, she wouldn't have been at all intimidated, but some people would, and it might stop them from speaking. We all know that these things need to be said aloud, not communicated in fucking code, there is more than enough of that happening. They need to be said again and again, or for each person to say them just once.

Next week I'm going to take what is probably a risk because I don't know what the outcome will be, it could be one I don't want. But I'm giving a presentation at work in which I'm going to highlight some of the many appalling abuses of women that aren't being covered up, they're being celebrated as equitable and right. I'm going to express myself honestly and if it goes tits up I'll take that over silence, compliance and lies.

I had a conversation that they were getting things wrong at work. Next thing I knew I was summoned by someone in very, very high management and asked to explain myself. Which I did sticking to the law

( which they were not). Stay calm, try not to be emotional. Stick to facts but don’t back down if/when any flack or gas lighting starts. Stand your ground politely and show your knowledge, offering to help them get it right.

Good luck brave person xxxx

Good luck with your presentation. Hopefully you'll help others speak up at your place of work and not feel so isolated. Do post how it goes.

I will. It's at the end of the week and I won't know what the consequences are until later, but I'll let you know how the presentation itself goes.

Please do. I suspect you'll know quite quickly if any complaint is made. I'm sure there are plenty of people here who will be wishing you well and sending you strength.

Was wondering how to say the words that would properly and totally endorse my support for Kellie J in this latest post and for what we're all having to deal with understanding - then I read your post Radhwa and you'd said it for me....... Thanks and keep up the good work, will watch for your outcomes with all my heart....

Give me strength, do they never learn? I have lost so much respect for the police in recent years and they are still digging.

Expand full comment

I'm lucky, I never had any respect for the police. Respect for men who took a small, slight, gay man such as James Baldwin who had more humanity in his little finger than the entire NYPD, into the cop shop to beat him up on a regular basis?

I know there are decent police, but there aren't enough of them. And they can only achieve decency when they speak up about brutality, corruption, and crime committed by their fellow police.

Untoward? How very English. Ooooh. What a crime. Quick! Quick! Call 999 and get the men in riot gear and big guns! Someone, someone maybe did something perhaps. And round the police trot. And record it as a hate incident or hate crime? But who was it on stage recently advising us to teach children to 'open their legs'?

Bloody hell Wilts constabulary. How is this still happening? Please UK Police, you are losing the remaining shreds of respect you still have. Stabbings and shootings and this is their focus.

Expand full comment

Yes- ludicrous! But even if they HAD watched the video- what does 'being untoward about paedophiles' actually even MEAN...??? Serious question- 'being untoward' ..??? What is it? And how/where could that be a crime? Are we supposed to respect paedophilia... isn't that illegal anyway?

Expand full comment

Untoward is such a mild sounding, arbitrary, hardly used phrase now, it shows the absolute stupidity of any police officer using it to explain why they have visited a woman's home to check her thinking. These organisations seem a bit lost on what their purpose and role is now. So maybe their vague use of terms reflects that. Maybe he was trying to explain in a roundabout way that didn't make him look foolish as he knew what he was doing was crackers. Who knows. That level of disproportionate and seemingly random power in the hands of people who are using it like this is worrying. How can we be law abiding if they makes laws up on the spot, or misconstrue the ones we have.

We women often know exactly what untoward or improper means - don't speak, don't think, don't dare argue your case, don't step out of line, don't flaunt yourself, don't be loud, don't disagree, don't wear 'inappropriate' clothing, don't wear too much or too little make up. Don't ask for the same pay your esteemed male colleagues get. Put up and shut up. Don't complain. And smile sweetly. Always be charming. Don't whatever you do age. On it bloody goes. There are many unwritten rules we all live by.

If you are attending a property you might want to establish with clarity what it is the person supposedly did. They famously have a history of visiting that person before for similar reasons so I'm really unsure why they did it, and I hope they aren't surprised she had spoken about it. That's what she does, and should, as this reveals them as bully boys, and a sandwich short of a picnic who are the private army of some very nasty offence mining men. It looks like abuse of power. Where are they when we need protection? That shouldn't be in doubt.

This whole incident and why Wilts Police felt they needed to waste limited resources on it is bizarre throughout. That the supposed complainant posted the online report on social media makes it even odder. You wouldn't recommend anyone sane applying to join them in this state would you? Policing by consent?

Ffs. They hadn't even watched the video? How could they embarrass themselves so?

Expand full comment

Yeah ,saw her video earlier. She's not a bit fazed.💪How dare the cops come to her house like that on someone else's say so ? They hadn't even watched the video. So not only are we forbidden to talk about women's rights but child safeguarding and grooming as well ?? The police and authorities should ask themselves who benefits from the abolition of women's and children's rights to SAFETY ?😭😢💔

They know exactly who benefits, and it's the class of people who OWN them.

No one will have any respect left for the police at this rate. The Hate Crime Bill hasn't been enacted yet in Scotland because they haven't a clue how to make it work. They are already bogged down with folk with hurty feelings and it hasn't even started yet.

Meanwhile they refuse to investigate 4 out of 5 dom abuse reports, rape prosecutions .01% of all rapes and refuse to go anywhere near child sex abusers in case they upset them ie Saville, Catholic priests, Telford, Rochdale etc. its a real boys club

Go Kelly, you’re an absolute star. In what kind of world can it be a crime to offend paedophiles. They’re paedophiles for God’s sake, they offend everyone.

Institutional capture is the only conclusion I can draw from this.

Without fear or favour...unless we get a request from The Frock-man to harass women and girls in their home, while he faps away at the very thought of it.

Wiltshire police joined only this month, as Moody mentioned, that list of English Police Forces in 'special measures' together with Gloucestershire, Cleveland, Staffordshire, Greater Manchester and the Metropolitan Police.

I suspect Wiltshire Polices' Chief Constable Kier Pritchard wouldn't have approved this visit. I suspect it wasn't officially condoned, and the officers concerned were operating outside the bounds of their duties. In other words they are 'rogue'.

Certainly Posie, if she chooses, has good reason to demand Wiltshire Police commit to stating if the visit was authorised by a senior officer. Otherwise, as Liam mentions, she might have uncovered members of a WIltshire Police pedo gang, or individual protecting them.

I good friend of mine is an ex-copper, he has assured me on several occasions that a large number of officers are indeed very stupid!

I don't honestly think this was a prank, I do suspect large amounts of dumbness were required to make this happen.
