I wrote yesterday:

Both Democratic and Republican women say NO: men must NOT be included in protections for women under Title IX.

Men are not women. It makes no difference what goes on in their heads. This is a scientific fact: men are not women.

I was a liberal teenager when Title IX's historic protections for me and all other American women changed our lives. Now sixty years old and a lifelong Democratic activist, I have lived my entire adult life under those protections. To now give to men the protections meant for women would be to destroy women's legal recognition as the oppressed sex and deserving of protections not given to our oppressors.

Women are the oppressed sex. Men are the oppressor sex. And all men are men, no matter what goes on in their heads.

Women have the right to say NO to men.

American women, both Democrats and Republicans, say NO to men being given protections meant for women under Title IX.

Thiese proposed changes are totally heartbreaking for female athletes in many sports, destroying their opportunities and even their safety. How will these legislators react to women being killed or suffering life changing injuries on the football pitch or the MMA ring ? Will they applaud the " winner " ? It takes a special kind of hatred for women to support this abhorrent agenda ,but then these people clearly care nothing for children either ,as they eagerly push them down a path to castration , mutilation and sterilisation ! Why on earth would WE be obliged to PROVE that men are stronger than women when the evidence has been proved over and over again ,and the outward differences between males and females is readily apparent in even our own families . Sadly ,there are none so blind as those who WILL NOT SEE.👎🤬🤮😭Thank you , Genevieve ,for this brilliant post 👍👏❤️

California already allows someone to change their ‘sex’ on DL based on ‘gender identity’. M, F, and X (nonbinary) are options. This is ridiculous. I think X should be available for intersex people, but otherwise, you’re male or female. Why not just put pronouns on a DL? Because trans people think they have a right to ‘pass’ externally as the opposite sex AND be accepted by any person they wish to have sex with as belonging to their chosen sex. We are being genital fetishists for following our own biology?

Now, what intersex people have been subjected to, often sex assignment surgery at or shortly after birth, is horrifying. But intersex people are not at the center of this media blitz. It’s men and women who were born sexed at birth, but don’t identify with the gendered behavior of their particular sex that is expected by society. That doesn’t mean they’re in the wrong body. It means expecting all women to be traditionally feminine and all men to be traditionally masculine is wrong for human development.

You can go directly to the U.S. federal government's website for submitting comments on the proposed changes to Title IX here:

https://www.regulations.gov/document/ED-2021-OCR-0166-0001

Click on the teal button that says “Comment.”

The proposed changes will introduce the term “gender identity” into Title IX's protections, a federal law passed in 1972 to protect women and girls from discrimination in education, including educational sports activities. Clearly, gender identity has nothing to do with “on the basis of sex.”

Title IX reads: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Obviously, the proposed changes would allow every new bio-male Lia Thomas in the US education system to freely compete against and with women and girl athletes—and afford bio male athletes access to changing rooms, showers, restrooms etc.

These proposals must be opposed.

Help! The last few times I've tried to forward an update to someone who would benefit from reading, it refuses to send, and corrupts the email. Is this just me, or is there something more sinister going on?

There are many, mostly peripheral bugs on substack. Don't read anything sinister into it, for a relatively new tech company it's usually a sign they're doing well and experiencing user growth. And their culture is quite different to Twitter, Reddit etc.

Thank you! I can't help but worry that somehow the nutters have managed to stop us even sharing sanity with each other. x

I submitted my comment. I would love to share it, but because TRAs tend to lurk on the Glinner Substack I feel uncomfortable sharing my comment. That said, thank you for making me aware of this so that I could comment before the deadline on Sept. 28.
