Thanks for this. Very much appreciated. Whilst it’s encouraging we have these very reasonable women heading groups like LGB Alliance, I’m also filled with despair that maybe it’s a losing battle. My child has just started school and now I’m very anxious about what they are going to teach. It’s just such bollocks. I saw on twitter a couple of days ago someone arguing that ‘woman’ is a social construct and means something different according to which country you are in, therefore there is no meaningful definition of woman. The whole thing is terrifying.
Take heart: I don't think for a second this is a losing battle. Most people simply haven't been paying attention so far, but the thing is, almost every regular person who for whatever reason crashes into this issue ends up shocked at what they've seen and deeply opposed to what's going on. Shame the Tokyo Olympics didn't happen this summer -- the outrage and backlash against hulking males self-identifying as trans women and hoovering up all the medals would have been nuclear. Here's hoping the Games can resume next summer. The ship is turning around; it's just big and lumbering and it moves very slowly. But it is turning around. xoxo
Thank you, Arty. Good to know others are being positive about this, even though I’m finding it overwhelming and difficult to see how we navigate out of this mess. Everyday I’m saying ‘what the fuck?!’ In absolute disbelief that it’s gone this far. And the hardest part is when you hear real life friends repeating this nonsense. I’ve lost one friend over this and distanced myself from 2 others. And these are people I would have thought would know better. But it is heartening to know there are people out there still that haven’t totally lost the plot. X
Really interesting talk - thank you all. It’s pretty terrifying the way GI has become the only acceptable theory and how debate has been stifled. Kids are being brainwashed. There’s a crisis looming where young gay people and young people who don’t conform to the ascribed stereotypes will feel accepted and may be forced into damaging medical intervention.
This is a wonderful interview, thank you Graham for giving these women an opportunity to talk about their goals and motivations. It's appalling that LGB Alliance are routinely dismissed out of hand, ignored or downright defamed by media, organisations and individuals who really should know better.
This is exactly what I need to hear right now. At times I feel like I'm going crazy! It definitely feels like being in an abusive relationship. I have been bullied and belittled on Twitter for simply saying that only women get pregnant. It's extraordinary and I've not experienced anything like it before. Thank you for being a sensible and rational voice.
