I was there, just left. It was the actual march that was cancelled but the speeches etc went ahead.

The morons were chanting their usual rubbish about 'tranz rights are human rights' - (duh, human rights are human rights) and 'terms go home' (back in the kitchen, then?). They are so mindless they are beyond belief.

The police were keeping them well away from us.

Let’s face it. Trans rights are not human rights. So-called “trans’ rights are transhuman rights.

Expand full comment

Trans rights are human rights is a clever slogan, but one that demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of human rights.

Most human rights are qualified rights. For example, the right to life is a fundamental human right. But if I make a credible threat to kill someone my right to life doesn’t prevent the police from killing me so as to prevent me from killing someone else. Similarly, my right to freedom doesn’t prevent me from being imprisoned following a criminal trial as a punishment and my right to housing doesn’t prevent me from being evicted if I fail to pay the rent.

A high degree of respect can be given to trans rights, but as with most other rights there must be a degree of qualification. That usually arises, as in the Equality Act 2010, where trans rights impose on women’s rights. Although not traditionally thought of as a qualification, science must also impose restrictions.

Of course, increasingly the trans movement isn’t a human rights movement, but rather a self centred movement based upon the wishes of a group of people who want the absolute freedom do to whatever they want regardless of the consequences and regardless of science (as they are finding, science can’t be so easily ignored; can you imagine the feminist movement stupidly ignore science by, for example, declaring that in the fight for equality with men medical conditions primarily affecting women should simply be wished out of existence? I don’t think so, but that’s essentially what the trans rights people are trying).

I do not believe that my ex-husband has the right to call himself the mother of our 2 children. I'm starting to wish that I'd given birth in the old days when fathers were not allowed into the maternity wards. Little did I know that he'd later co-opt my natural labors for his own narrative. Many do not realize the extent to which they intrude on the rights of mothers. Ute Heggen

Transhumanism IS inhumane.

Bigtime.

They're trans privileges.

Expand full comment

I agree, they think they're a privileged new species in a new 'enlightened' age of biology, but what they are foolishly demanding are not 'privileges' but harms to their bodies and psyches. We need to save the children from these deluded fools.

Expand full comment

They want access to female spaces, sports, names, bodies, etc. All privileges demanded at the expense of the rights of women and children to safety, dignity and fairness. That they are succeeding shows how little regard in the general public there is for the rights of women and children up against the demands of men.

The situation is deplorable but glad to hear the gathering and speeches went ahead.

The words ‘human rights’ are now meaningless - just another empty slogan thanks to the likes of Trans activists, their pet NGOs and media poodles like wee Owen etc

Expand full comment

No, they cannot be meaningless because the reason the UN Convention on Human Rights exists is because of the holocaust. People need to be told to stop trying to change the agenda. It is too important. I will never give up reminding people of that, having had the privilege of working with a number of holocaust survivors. Trans people who think they can capture these words can just f*** off. As with the words "women" and "lesbian", they are all ready taken, go find something else, you lazy pheasant pluckers!

Expand full comment

Yes, just because they mess with meaning doesn't mean all meaning for all of us is lost. And the pheasant plucker's son can do one too. Amongst all this misery, thank you. You've made me smile by reminding me of my older sister and her naughty friends teaching me to say that tongue twister when I was a child.

I wonder if this will be happening tomorrow, in Brighton?

The typical way to police, and I use the word loosely, allow the bullies to remain, and remove the victims!

This is so deliberate, and regardless of their sexuality, Women are being crushed.

I'm going to Brighton. Enough of being an armchair warrior. Time to make a stand.

And protect them from what? Science and material reality? Lesbians having the audacity to reject their sexual advances? Jesus wept!

Wish I was going to Brighton tomorrow. But can't risk it with my weirdo stalker.

I will be watching it unfold online though.

You're so right ,Graham. Wish more people ,including some TV reporters, would realise that "trans " ideology is hiding behind the people it's trying to erase ,ie LGB people !! The tras are the most homophobic group on earth and people need to stop conflating "trans"phobia with homophobia as they're completely separate and

medical/ surgical "transition "IS gay conversion therapy !!

They (Trans activists) have something truly pathetic about them, apart from the antagonists / provocateurs representing whatever cloaked group or organisation they’re from.

As the ex-wife of, I can tell you that the psychologists who push us to stay, "to keep the family together," are sexually harassing us. As these jerk-offs were doing there. Brava to commenter Anne Stafford, for being there, telling us the speeches did go on.
