It's a fucked up world where women, meeting to discuss safe places for them based on sex is seen as something hateful, but intimidation en masse is seen as worthy, stunning and brave. Once more I am reminded of what Germaine Greer said.

Yes, she got that right.

She got so much right.

She certainly did. And although Margaret Atwood has broken my fucking heart with her recent capitulation to The Trans Hegemony, she also got it right when she said: "men are afraid that women will laugh at them; women are afraid that men will kill them."

I like Ruth Rendell's version: Women are afraid of men's violence, men are afraid of women's tongues.

After reading The Handmaid's Tale, many years ago, I was left with the feeling that actually, Margaret Atwood despises other women. Her recent denunciations were cowardly and pathetic but fairly inevitable.

If we had a functioning media it could ask these people how they square their protest with Baroness Nicholson's story about the woman who was raped in a female hospital ward by a trans-identified male.

Some of them wouldn't believe it because they're in a cult. Some of them would be fine with it because they're perverts, and some of them would be horrified because they won't have heard about it. The last group are the people who will eventually wise up but it's taking a long time because the media is full of cowards.

I read a response to this yesterday where some woman, probably of some importance, openly said that yes she believed the woman was raped but it was absolutely a "woman" who committed the offence. Another WOMAN had the effing nerve to say that. Women hate women that much in order to protect men. At a loss, what's the label in psychology for that? Traitor.

It was a woman, Ell Melvin who is actually employed by the NHS to help people deal with trauma, you cannot make this shit up. Some strange reason she deleted her twitter account

Expand full comment

Just looked her up. Thanks. A psychotherapist. A qualified NHS therapist. The individual that identifies as female that raped the woman was a man. Women like her go above and beyond to hurt other women. As a therapist myself I am disgusted. She's patted the backs of AGP's and the trauma they cause for their sexual fetishism. Transgender is nonsense.

Who are these demented women who are actually protesting other women's need for single-sex spaces? Like what planet are they from?!?

I'm a Green Party member (-tho not sure for how much longer!) and it is like a cult of Trans Apologists who have persuaded well-meaning members, that this is a human rights issue- and they swallowed the Stonewall blag about it being transphobic to ever say anything which might ever remotely look like a criticism of trans people... The GP current policy is 'Transwomen are Women' -which is ludicrous, obvs. But there can be no debate. Luckily, Emma Bateman, and Sharar Ali, have legal challenges coming up, which may bring this crap out into the open. But in the meantime, young women from GP will believe they are fighting fascism, by picketing Woman Place meetings etc...

Have to agree with you. When you look at what women protest about it's about safety, about rights, about preventing harm. About stopping crimes. On the streets. In prisons. Anywhere really. Fairly simple concepts and it's fairly obvious that they are fighting to stop bad things happening so can legitimately argue their case and cause. It's also often what men protest about.

But this bunch? Whipped up about an imaginary hate. That's this new meaning of 'hate' they have that means 'disagreeing with us coercing you'. What exactly is it that's so offensive - women meeting, women wanting sex-segregated spaces for safety, or the concept of woman itself? How dare women meet! And talk about women's rights!! What an outrage! Quick get our trans flags out! This must be stopped! We must yell loud to show our opposition! To people not harming us AT ALL!

And that Twitter timeline and for a 'journalist' for the Manchester Evening News is a shitshow. This looks like performance art. Or maybe the idea of little women meeting in the Mechanics Institute was breaking a stereotype too far for these gender ideologues. Get them wimmin out of a man's space or we'll all dissolve in a fit of unicorn hysteria. Good on the MI for hosting the meeting.

Once again, they fully support sexual exhibitionism as the standard for freedom. Freedom doesn't mean the right to be safe, the right to speak freely, the right to organize, it means SEXUAL EXHIBITIONISM.

Thank god this generation weren't around when Brits were called upon to fight back the dark forces of Nazism. They're entirely susceptible to the Big Lie. They would have caved, and handed everything over without a fight. To top it all off --these youngsters think they're on the right side of history. Ggaahh!

Can't they see that their behaviour is like any fascistic behaviour anywhere? Women giving women the bash for prioritising women's rights and safeties is surely indicative of being sucked into a story hook, line and sinker by forces that don't serve women well. I know that there are plenty of woke-bros that abominate women who won't toe the line that woke-bros lay down, but the betrayal by women is a different game altogether.

Every time a politician disrespects women by pretending they don’t know what a woman is, it gives these protesters permission to act like this towards women. Politicians are enabling violence against women.

It seems that men can harass women with impunity, but what gets all the attention is one man yelling at another man 6 months ago.

Still at least 5 million people watched Kellie Jay Keen peak Americans.

They are fascists. Nazis. Fair enough if you want to believe women can have penises. Or the earth is flat. But not being able to allow others to offer a difference of opinion says it all. They won’t debate because they can’t. The modern left, the new left, the identitarian left whatever you want to call them have become fascistic. They project onto others what they are themselves. Only one view is acceptable. Walk away from them. Whether it’s matters of sex, race, climate change bollox they spread lies. Only their view is acceptable. And if you don’t agree. Well pack your bags you are going on a guilt trip. They are a descent back into superstitious feudalism. The same people who say women can have penises, the greens, also say follow the science on climate change. How’s that going? As we delude our selves with net zero. A delusion that relies on the reality of nuclear and hydrocarbon power to be there when the wind doesn’t blow and the sunbeams ain’t there. And has led to the rocketing of energy prices. Pushing people into poverty. The denial of reality is dangerous.

Whether or not you agree with their views, this is a group exercising their right to public protest, it’s the polar opposite of fascism. And stop conflating criticism for your opinion with suppression of it.

What are they *protesting* about? That Women are congregating to talk about their specific issues inside a private venue?

That is not something that can ever be viewed as something to "protest" about.

Lets change one word:

People of Colour congregating to talk about their specific issues inside a private venue - and the same mob baying outside?

If that was happening, the Media would have been right on how racist the mob are being.

But blatant sexism is ignored and dismissed as not relevant?

Expand full comment

That does happen. It's a first ammendment protected activity in the states. The right to protest is incredibly important but the negative side of it is people will use it to air views you don't like.

Expand full comment

This is not a matter of airing views one doesn't like. These are people trying to shut down freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. And you might learn to spell amendment correctly while you're at it.

The right to that kind of protest is an intrinsic part of those freedoms. You’re not saying they should be denied those rights are you?

In many places these same people have attacked gender-critical men and women. I have also seen the same aggression outside women's reproductive health clinics. And, no, I don't think they are engaging in free speech, I think they are engaging in terrorism. Please leave your circular logic in the circular file.

You've got it wrong. When you subscribe to these views, you are accepting that no debate is permitted as you do the dirty work of the state, which for us Westerners means the state/corporate alliance. And that is the definition of fascism. Who in hell are you?

Funnily enough the poster above calling the protesters Nazi’s is on twitter saying there should be no debate with the other side because they’re obviously wrong. What a muddle.

Totally shameful. Women aren't allowed anything these days ,not safe spaces ,our female language or even our female biology !! Such hatred for half the human race is hard to understand when it comes from men but coming from women it's utterly deplorable and incomprehensible !! Shame on them 👎👎👎

If you comprehend that they are buying into the values that have been shoved down our throats -- yes, a lot of us have resisted these "values" -- what they are doing becomes logical if not rational. The values of the West escape me, they seem so utterly worthless and bankrupt.

I was there last night. Quite ironic to sit listening to women talk about the need for safe spaces for women while a crowd were chanting “hate” outside. After a while the volume dropped. And the police had cleared them away before we left. Thank you for sticking up for women.

Can I just say here Graham - as GETTR doesn’t allow DMs. I’ve just watched your interview with Stephen Nolan and I cannot express enough how grateful I am that you have done so much

to bring these issues into the public eye at so much cost to yourself. Just know how much we respect you for that. Also - I live in Belfast and if you’re up this way soon please allow me to buy you several pints in the establishment of your choice. 😀
