Do we know how someone is mentally incompetent to stand a trial but he is mentally competent to identify as woman and his opinion should be considered in this case? I am asking this as a member of an Ethics Committee because when someone is incompetent then his/her opinion could be considered but they are not able to make decisions for themselves and have legal representative or guardian who does that for them. This whole thing looks like breaching all the mental health regulations around the Western world.
At the beginning of this article it says 236 cases of this nature have been recorded. Do you have more details ? eg. - over how long a period and what proportion of transsexuals are offenders?
When I discuss this topic with friends and family this question is frequently asked. Thanks and keep up the fight!

A slight caution over terms here - you use the term 'transsexual' and offender but many chose their own vacuous and slippery terminology (such as transgender then arguments over 'trans' or 'trans woman' or 'transwoman'), or are given some other label, so to gather data is particularly tricky. It often turns out they have long histories of criminal activity, may be known to multiple services, hence why changing what they call themselves and having multiple identities is so useful to hide former acts (the whole aggrieved 'deadnaming' kerfuffle), ongoing risk, then likelihood of future offending.
Going through the archives here and on the other sources named below you can start to compare with rates of incidents for their sex, then their claimed sex (and identities) as compared with their wider group category (men who are sex offenders or what proportion of what category in prison are in for sexual offences etc so it's easier to compare like with like).
Eurgh. I'd forgotten how chilling and vomit-inducing seeing these images is and what reading about these twisted men is like. They look deranged. A picture is worth a thousand words. They are clearly totally delusional, but have been encouraged to think reality - what they really, honestly look like, are and do - just doesn't matter. More Orwellian than Orwell.
