Can Holly not see the contradiction in her comment about how we want to put people in boxes of boy or girl as if these parents aren't doing exactly that. A gender non confirming child is not the opposite sex and it's enclosing them in a box to say they are. If you'd asked me at 4 what I was, I'd have said a lion (slight narnia obsession). Thank goodness that wasn't affirmed by my parents (!)

At two my kids were trying to put their fingers into electric plug sockets. I did not take it as a sign that they wanted to be electrical appliances.

I’ve just read the responses to This Morning - I feel so uplifted. So many normal rational thinking people having their eyes opened to this nonsense. I always hoped this would happen. Once it gets into the ordinary public domain it will get called out for what it is by people who don’t give a toss about pronouns or hurt feelings. Child abuse - pure and simple.

Wait until men in lycra start pinching gold medals at this summer's Olympics 😁

It'll be the international reckoning; the mother of all red pills.

Expand full comment

In the UK, men in lycra havent really got to the point of winning medals, they just go out and clog up the roads every sunday riding 4 abreast on expensive bicycles because of their two wheeled mid life crisis

Some of these are in the UK and have been winning medals - and at least one is now in prison after trying to murder an official who asked to see documentation confirming "her" testosterone levels:

LAUREN JESKA

Lauren Jeska/Michael Jameson, a violent male who identifies as a trans woman, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for attempted murder in March 2017 after pleading guilty at Birmingham Crown Court in 2016.

Jeska, 42, admitted stabbing Ralph Knibbs in the head and neck at Alexander Stadium in March 2016, and also causing actual bodily harm to two other UK Athletics officials, Kevan Taylor and Tim Begley, who tried to intervene during the attack.

Judge Simon Drew said the attack had been planned and executed with “chilling precision”, meaning Jeska posed a “serious risk in the future”. Mr Knibbs suffered a stroke during the attack and now has limited vision in both eyes, rendering him disabled, and has difficulty eating due to severed nerves.

Competing in the female category, Jeska was England’s champion fell-runner three times between 2010 and 2012. After failing to produce samples to determine testosterone levels, Jeska’s eligibility to compete in female competitions was questioned by UK Athletics and these racing results were subsequently declared null and void.

ITV has been hijacked by Wokeness. For example, demoting their principal football commentator for the "crime" of being too male, pale and stale; Good Morning Britain used to have a TRA on every bloody day locking horns with Piers Morgan; cancelling Alistair Stewart; bashing Churchill on every programme; Morgan being told to formally apologise to darling Meghan; ITV ignoring a record number of complaints about a political dance routine because it was Woke, etc, etc.

It's no surprise innocent children are now in the line of fire.

it's a bandwagon. People need to proceed normally, and civily disobey when necessary and possible. The victims will be very real, the ruined lives of children and the victims taken by transvestite predators. But this trend will die. I just pray that when the smoke clears, many will be sued into bankruptcy, and the rapists of women and children, and the worst of the surgeons and gender clinic CEO's will serve real actual prison sentences.

When I was a kid used to come out with all sorts of rubbish, and it was not met with grooming gaslighting or affirmation it was met with my mum’s eye rolls and yes love. Interesting that the mum is complicit by not being able to get an effing word in. Interesting too that the girl is one of a set of twins where the other is a boy. Makes me wonder if the parents have favoured the boy and the girl feels left out. However two years old is grooming plain and simple and those parents really are abusing their daughter.

I don't know UK stuff and personalities that well, but what I do know is trolls. I posted a list of 130 different kinds of trolls here this am on that post, this is after years of being a politics junkie on politics sites replete with paid disruptors sent there to do everything possible to disrupt the discussion and destroy the friendly banter of supporters and turn everyone against everyone. There are trolls from the opposite political parties, from opposition websites, from the political lobbies like the pharmaceutical industry and the NRA (US) and so on and so forth (and I think those folks are literally paid by those lobbies to pop up whenever certain topics are discussed like vaccines). I've noticed them popping up here a bit more, mostly manipulative 'concern trolls' that say things like "well gee Mr. Linehan normally you are the bees knees but just this *one time* I think you are going 'too far' or some other such b.s., it's literally the oldest trick in the book online, as old as rule 34 and Godwin's law...hate to see it happen here but the fact that people are paying money to disrupt here means Graham is effective otherwise they would not do so.

Yeah, but no. Don’t have your experience with troll-hood Anna Derry, but I do have a concern about glinner losing his effectiveness. Keep your powder dry, Graham.

Here in the US there's nowhere NEAR the degree of pushback here I see in the UK (and thank god, now Sweden). You have no idea of the degree of TRA capture over here in most news outlets. It’s enraging, and demoralizing.

We need all the allies we can get. The Atlantic is a highly regarded publication, and it has contained extremely uncritical TRA content in the recent past.* Anything that can be done to get TRA-skeptic ideas in front of The Atlantic's readers is good, even if it means taking a splinter or two in the process.

Keep on keeping on, Graham.

*I can no longer find what it was from The Atlantic's Dec 2020 issue that almost made me cancel my subscription. But! as a continuing subscriber, I can now send in my own complaint. I'll cc you.

I"m in the US. Concern trolls are not allies. They are weasel into a setting, pretend to be on the team, then little by little, with the kindest, 'aw shucks' posturing possible, take that community apart.

The Atlantic has completely shredded it's own reputation, which anyone can weigh in on here. https://www.allsides.com/news-source/atlantic The moment they published the article "The Secret Internet of Terfs" they lost all credibility in my eyes...that rag is nothing but garbage.

When I was about 11 I really liked Popper Beads and wished boys could wear them. For a whole week I was convinced it would be better to be a girl than a boy just to wear Popper Beads. I am glad to say that at the end of the week I told my closest friend that, and he laughed, punched me on the arm and said, "Being a girl would be crap. Lets ride our bikes through some big puddles" and then I sort of thought he was right and thought no more about Popper Beads

I don't really give a toss about Helen Lewis; I do give a toss if so-called allies of yours complain about a post they're "upset" about. WTF is wrong these people?

Full disclosure, I voted for Brexit and would've voted Trump; two issues which you park at the sign-in. On other threads we'd be at loggerheads over them but they're an irrelevance here. So if you were to trash trump or savage Brexit I wouldn't complain to you about how "unfair" you're being; I'd overlook it and concentrate on the issues we're *supposed* to be tackling together.

To be brusque they need to grow the fuck up. That simple.

they are called 'disruptors', they are here to stop people from organizing and becoming a political force, their mission is to try to rattle Mr. Linehan and to slaughter any cohesion among subscribers.

I cannot express how upsetting this is. Even when I believed the rhetoric of "epidemic of trans murders", "they just need to use the loo" and took the unreliable suicidal ideation stats at face value, I felt uncomfortable with this because the origin story was always "kid won't conform to gender stereotypes". I could never shut out the nagging question, "What if he's just a boy who likes pink tutus and glitter nails? What if she's a girl who likes footy and is more comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt?" I once met a woman whose second son had declared himself to be a girl at about 3 or 4, purely based on a preference for "girls' toys" and sparkly things. His parents had never heard of "gender identity" and just thought their child was trying to differentiate himself from his more gender-non-conforming brothers, until the teachers at the kid's kindergarten told them "your child might be transgender" and, as loving parents desperate to do the right thing, they accepted the advice to affirm, give the child a new name and so on. I thought, "okay, they obviously know their kid better than I do" but still thought "liking Frozen and not wanting to play rough sports with your brothers doesn't necessarily make you a girl..."

My little brother once insisted that Mum put his hair in pigtails like mine - he would've been about 2 and I was 4 or 5. He also liked dressing up in old dresses we found in the garage. Did Mum wonder if he might be a girl in the wrong body? No, she put his hair in pigtails, took a photo and then eventually, presumably when they got uncomfortable for him (those 70s hair bobble elastics were killers), took them out. He grew up to be a bogstandard gender conforming straight man. My cousin's son has had very long hair since he was little since he hated getting it cut. She treated him as a boy who likes what he likes.

I gather blue used to be coded as a feminine colour and pink (because of its relationship to red) as masculine. So if gender identity is innate and determined in utero (as I've seen some TRAs argue) and little kids instinctively know that colour preference equals deeply held and immutable gender identity, where are all the 19th century psychoanalysts' reports of this mysterious phenomenon of boys who liked to wear blue threatening to kill themselves?

How many pre-gay kids are being put onto this pathway? How is it "affirming your authentic self" to say to a kid, "you can wear these clothes and play with these toys but that means you are really the opposite sex" instead of "these toys and clothes are for everyone!" It's horrible.

There's a meme which says, "how to tell if the toy is for a boy or a girl. Do you operate it with your genitals? If yes, this toy is not for children. If no, it is for boys AND girls". I've seen the same people who repost this and rant about unnecessary gendering of toys and clothes cheer on "trans kids" and their often homophobic parents without any sense of apparent cognitive dissonance. It is baffling.

Expand full comment

the worst part about this is that when the kid gets older and if they are not truly any kind of gender dysphoric they will be torn apart by the insinuation that it is 'their fault'. I'm amazed that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie did not trans their child Shiloh who by all accounts appears to be a normal adolescent now after like a decade of dressing in masculine clothes.

Brad and Angelina appear to have taken exactly the right approach - let her dress how she wants, let her call herself John if she wants, but she's still their daughter.

the 'peakage' is at critical mass right now. In six months or so I think it will become more evident. They will not forget that.

Agreed 100%!

The significance of the SuperStraight movement, which has morphed into a truly inclusive LGBS on most social media platforms, is IMHO just grossly underestimated by "GC Leaders". If it is on their RADAR at all, it tends to be dismissed with a mixture of suspicion and contempt.

From a UK perspective, it is liberal-left Remainer snobbery towards Brexiteers all over again, even though this time we are all on the same side. What they do not know, because they equate SuperStraights with "white van man" and "Essex girl", is that grassroots GC feminists, lesbians, gays were quick to join in, educate and gain firm allies.

For example, the Admin of a huge, international SuperStraight group approached LGB Alliance in a spirit of comradeship and was basically told, "We don't want your sort round here!"

It might be significant, given that the catalyst for the SuperStraight phenomenon was a TikTok video made by a 16 year old, that the only "mainstream" GC interest I have seen so far is on the Plebity YouTube Channel. This started with interviews by Sasha White with Hayden Hewitt and Hamza Watani.

“Identity Politics is Being Pushed Because it Disrupts Class Analysis" -Hamza Watani"

The "youth connection" is that Plebity includes "Identity Crisis", a video series hosted by Sasha and M.K. Fain, "a show for gender critical young people" started in January.

Identity Crisis

https://www.plebity.org/agora/identity-crisis-forum/

“Identity Crisis is a new weekly column and podcast for young people struggling with the modern orthodoxy of gender identity ideology—developed in collaboration between Plebity and 4W by women who have been there.

Plebity has recently added a new show, "The Underground", hosted by Sasha and Hamza Watani, who has his "SuperStraight" Substack at http://hamzawatani.substack.com

The Underground:

https://www.plebity.org/agora/the-underground/

"The Underground is a weekly show about political and cultural events and news. Co-hosts Sasha White and Hamza Watani cover the issues from an alternative perspective, critical of identitarianism and groupthink."

===========

There might well be other "official" SuperStraight + GC collaborations but I have not come across them yet.

I do see several "GC big names" posting regularly in SuperStraight Facebook groups alongside us "little fish" sharing updates, such as links to Graham's substack, War on Women, etc. :-)
