Some women do excuse their paralysis or hide from admitting their abject terror by pretending to themselves that they "stay for the children". Maybe for some your harsh truths will shake them into action.
There are others though who are justifiably in fear for their and their children's lives if they make a move and have nowhere safe to go. There is always someone worse off than ourselves, who cannot help herself, has had her mind or body destroyed or is in too much danger.
Maybe tomorrow she will have the strength, or cunning or good luck to find a way or to get help. Maybe it will be next week or next month.
