Peto also gave advice to Tara Wolf on how to defend himself in court on the charge of assaulting me. His advice was to point out that I'd been at a meeting at which 67-year-old Linda Bellos had 'advocated violence against the trans community'. That meeting took place six weeks AFTER I'd been assaulted. What a bellend.

Brilliant. Enraging 😠 not sure if you've seen the attacks on Posie as well. Some legitimate points raised but some really unhelpful stuff as well. And someone called me Graham yesterday when answering one of my tweets 😀 Gauri asked people to use your profile pic for 48 hours in solidarity and I think some people think we are you! Don't worry. Taking it down today.

The Labour Party is pretty much a shambles isn’t it? None of them can say anything remotely intelligent anyway, because everything is distilled through about 20 million conversations in the back room of a Labour club, while they argue about leaflets.

I saw the attacks on Posie and it's obvious that some BLM activists set out deliberately to confront her, Mary. But that is understandable. See Jessica Taylor: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1300658805945102336.html

I accept she's far from perfect. But my point is we will never be able to find a subset of perfection. This is an issue where we need to unite across all kinds of boundaries, including party political lines. And we're not all at the same level all at the same time. So PP might peak race one of these days. And we should continue to call out wrong where we see it. But let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

The problem is that she can do more harm than good. Just as allowing ourselves to be associated in any way with the Heritage Foundation will turn people off to the message.

On Twitter maybe. But not in real life. I guarantee 95% of the people I know have never heard of the Heritage Foundation or most of the other stuff that activists find important. I read the thread you suggested and you are right. There is much smug white middle class commentary. And she is unlikely to be someone I would associate with outside of specific campaigns. However even smug middle class white women are right about some things, and she's right about this. Ergo we are comrades. For a short while anyway. And I'm sure she's capable of growth and learning just like the rest of us. Ricky Tomlinson famously used to be a BNP supporter before he did a 360 degree turnaround and Peter Hitchens did the same from left to right.

this is a good thread giving context to the Heritage Foundation thing https://twitter.com/WomensLibFront/status/1300565943752560648

Great Graham, thanks. A devastating thread, indeed. It's good to bear in mind.

And thanks for the stunning interview with Jennifer. I have just sat enthralled and very moved by her story.

Wouldn't that be a 180 degree turnaround? (360 just returns you to facing the same way.)

Our local beardy Labour twat, who looks like an even more repellent Harvey Weinstein (IKR), reckons male violence against women is justified if the man is from a lower social class. That’s when someone is so stuck in an arrested development of such sixth form proportions that they’ve become a fucking idiot.

Ah but, calling out misogyny doesn’t get you these all important virtue cookies does it? And hey, transwomen are THE MOST oppressed women on the planet, right?
