And all the hundreds of men who abused and bullied and libeled her for months on end are all still on twitter. Aidan Comerford actually posted a man's violent tweet under hers and deliberately cut off the man's user name so it looked like she had made violent threats against trans ppl this week. Where's HIS ban for that or for spending all day every day harassing women on twitter? I'm so angry about this.

Yip these poor grown men are the victims of women. Fitting women up is too easy for these outrageous spiteful, lying and manipulative cowards.

There is literally a man on twitter (Elfoxoloco) who routinely harasses feminist women by sending us a video of a naked man sh!tting on a dinner plate. He's done it dozens of times and been reported hundreds of times. Twitter won't suspend HIM - but Helen gets a suspension for asking a rational question more than once?? Sorry for posting twice. This one is really ticking me off.

Only the best are tossed from Twitter. It’s a badge of honour. Raise a glass of cheer to the Helen Staniland Question! May it multiply throughout the lands. Why do males need full access to females all the time anyway?

Twitter and other platforms have unleashed the very worst in society. The pedophiles, the incels, the perverts, criminals and the freaks and overwhelmingly the ignorant misogyny we all have had to tolerate for too long. Women, especially those with the audacity to speak or have opinions are erased and targeted for suppression, abuse, neglect and control everywhere. To lose a platform is the tip of the iceberg in erasing our contributions in every field the economy by our reproductive labour, arts, science and sport all of which women do with less resource AND the two jobs (one being particularly physically dangerous and difficult and for life)we are apparently magically able to do without any childcare which we are also magically meant to be able to pay for without contributions or any support of partners and family for the first time in human history. Now just for defending a right to private spaces and confirming what is clearly evident..that men and women are different... a woman can be deplatformed. This and much, much more can happen to any women speaking out anywhere. This is the depth of hatred and self loathing caused by toxic masculinity running and dominating the world we all live in. Let’s see what else they come up with to persecute her. No amount of “privilege” will protect her from the men and enablers determined to silence a woman objecting to erasing women and our and our children’s rights. Important issues as opposed to ridiculous non issues like men’s sexuality access to women and children for sex abuse and slavery and, hairdos, high heels, make up and WHAT THEY WANT TO WEAR! Society has regressed not progressed in the slightest.I hope this is peak trans and peak breakdown of society which has been 100’s of years in the making social engineering us to serve industry and business (enslavement paying not even enough to live...all the basis of feudalism, corruption by statist elites and Nazism). This has all occurred off women’s bodies served up to serve men to maintain the illusion men have any status at all. They don’t and will be killed as ruthlessly as women are treated by the military industrial complex for shares and banks. I hope leaders see the writing on the wall and start working on sensible issues like cleaning up our environment and redesigning and redistributing our money and economies to suit people and planets survival and needs based on reality and evidence instead of pandering to male offenders, perverts and criminals who are clearly narcisstic sociopaths and DO NOT CARE and are shameless cowards and liars and a DISTRACTION.AI and algorithms will be running everything entirely soon so we can expect the dehumanising to get worse. All power to Helen in this teeny tiny issue she’s being gaslit on and these incels are shrieking (deplatforming and modern erasure and burning is a silent terrified shriek) about. Upside is it’s a relief to not have to engage on these ridiculous platforms full of toxic misogyny abuse and real filth so I hope personally she enjoys the respite and break.

I'm angry but also extremely worried. If my bank account is frozen tomorrow, we all know who to blame for writing the f***ing manual - M. Atwood.

The only conciliation I can think of is at least they won't have to deal with the shite directed to them on Twitter anymore. The *only* conciliation.

What a shame. Helen is amazing, and I love the squirming that comes with that question. If they truly believed trans women are women they would just say 'yes'

I wish, with all my heart, that someone with tech knowledge would take the time to shut Twitter down forever. In my opinion they have assisted and enabled misogyny and violence for years. It's time their doors were closed.

I think Poland, Mexico and Germany are a few of the countries that are looking to fix the Twitter issue (at least on their turf). If social media was legislated in the same way taxi cabs are legislated, we’d all be better off - common carriers of

Cont’f ... common carriers of the public. You’ve got to pick up everyone, not just the ones you agree with. Poland is creating a committee (for lack of a better word) that would force socusl media to trigger state accounts or comments if they are within legal parameters. In other words, as common carriers of the public square - their actions would have to fall in line with actual free speech laws.

Women would be able to defend their rights that way instead of this make believe world where we all pretend the house isn’t on fire.

I agree, we must legislate ALL social media and whatever side of the political spectrum or woke spectrum you fall on you should be treated equally. It wouldn't be that hard, they just don't want to.

Not u til it happens to *them* what’s that old adage about free speech? You have to defend your opponent’s ability to speak freely even more than your own in order to actually ha e free speech. Something like that. It’s all but forgotten today.

Twitter leaves up MAP accounts and porn accounts and tra accounts that deliberately troll women and girls and takes down Helen?

The actual fuck?

They are taking down minor accounts too, just nobody notices. I've checked out, for the first time in my life, my "unfollows" and then looked to find their accounts, and I've lost 20 in the last couple of days

"birdwatch?"

Aye, right.

Hey! Thanks a lot Graham! I got tossed from twitter for quoting you:

@Glinner So when TRA's say "women rape too" they mean males who identify as trans-women!!

They had listed 5 other posts (tweets) but they disappeared while I has futzing around trying to figure out how to appeal, because I wanted to tell twitter what I, a reasonable, rational, elderly woman, thinks about their business practices. The only one I managed to appeal was this one because it was the only one I could find again. I don't know what I wrote because it disappeared too, but it was along the lines of "What is wrong with you for omitting "SEX" as one of the company's categories of human beings to protect??!"

They took the appeal days ago and when I go to twitter they say, "blah blah blah...if you give up your appeal we will let you back on twitter." Tich, tich, tech! I'm not giving into that bribe/threat/blackmail. I may terminate my account if I don't get an answer sometime soon just to let them know I left. I have other options already, a Spinster.xyz account, a MeWe account and a Facebook account. I feel safest on Spinster.xyz.

The FB feminists (Original Meaning) are finding alternatives to keep in touch because they augur that Facebook will go the way of Reddit and twitter by mass canceling women. The two favorites for reconnecting with friends are MeWe and Spinster.xyz.

You would think this is unlikely because of lost revenue, but we are discussing the male propensity to shoot himself in the foot. Did you know that the comic industry almost died because they excluded women? Over half their revenue came from Romance comics written and drawn by women until sometime in the late 1940's-early 1950's when they shot themselves in the foot by cancelling women, both women readers and women producers . Then they hid their "manly" comics in boy/man caves. It wasn't until Manga were available at regular book stores that women were able to once again buy comics in a safe environment, after an hiatus of at least two generations from when "Little Lulu" was available at the neighborhood grocery store.

There's also Ovarit, which is doing quite well as a replacement for Reddit for women who don't want to hand over their sex based rights to men.

I have responded to the consultation issued by the HoC Jt Committee on Human Rights (https://committees.parliament.uk/committee/93/human-rights-joint-committee/news/120588/inquiry-launch-freedom-of-expression/) on "Free Speech", deadline 31st Jan. There are so many consultations I could spend all my time on these, but I have done this one.

In reply to the last question " Does everyone have equal protection of their right to freedom of expression?) I wrote: Yes, in theory everyone should have an equal right to free speech. In practice on social media those who pursue their opponents into a corner get the last word: they persuade Twitter's moderators that they have been “offended” by a “slur” and get the female opponent (it is a woman!) first suspended and then banned. Corporations and bodies with the deepest pockets employ specialists in “social media” and other outlets to get their message heard and flood all outlets as usual. Stonewall has an income of £8M pa to influence 800 “Diversity Champions” include all major Gov depts.

Only occasionally are fundamentally different and questioning opinions heard: the excellent letter which JK Rowling published on line on 10th June 2020 (https://www.jkrowling.com/opinions/j-k-rowling-writes-about-her-reasons-for-speaking-out-on-sex-and-gender-issues/) is such an opinion, stated with care, moderation and compassion for all.

I should have started with my first paragraph:

Free speech including social media should be restricted as little as possible. When President Trump was banned from Twitter on 8th January 2021 sources as diverse as Angela Merkel and Alexei Navalny expressed alarm. Only (a) incitements to violence (including sexual assaults) against individuals and people or damage to property and (b) threats of the same should be criminal offences. Children should be specially protected against grooming (manipulation) by adults and sexual threats – adults' privacy controls are not enough.

The test should be whether a reasonable person would interpret the words as an incitement or a threat. The concept of “hateful” speech should be abandoned because (i) there is no “right not to be offended” and (ii) moderately offensive or critical free speech is the only kind worth having in a democracy. Truth is often offensive to someone in power trying to hide it! The test would decide whether the line of incitement or threat had been overstepped.

I utterly reject the proposal that:“The new laws will apply to content where it gives rise to a reasonably foreseeable risk of a significant adverse physical or psychological impact on individuals.” This is far too low a threshold for a criminal offence.
